FBI Agents Want to be Subpoenaed to Testify against Comey and McCabe

At least two if not more FBI agents have expressed a desire to be subpoenaed to testify before Congress so they can reveal the Bureau’s dirty secrets.

By all reports, this is not isolated to a lone agent who wants to spill the beans. Joe DiGenova, who has close relationship with a number of FBI special agents and has appeared on Fox News, told The Daily Called he has been approached by agents from not only Washington and New York but from “all over the country” who want to be subpoenaed.”

Though the mainstream media and Democrats have tried to shift the spotlight on President Trump for trouble within the Bureau, the truth is the credibility of what was the world’s premier law enforcement/ intelligence agency has been on the wane since long before the 2016 elections.

One government staffer said of James Comey and Andrew McCabe, “They ruined the credibility of the bureau and the technical ability of the bureau … they’re worried about their organizational reputation and their professional careers.” The staffer noted that courts no longer take the bureau seriously because of the ineptness of leadership.

A recent report by Time Magazine supports that FBI staffer’s claim. The article points out that the FBI has struggled with conviction rates of cases they sent to the DOJ for prosecution for several years now. Less than half of the cases sent to the Justice Department last year netted a conviction. That’s compared to a 72 percent average conviction rate for all other government agencies.

But these agents aren’t asking to be called before Congress to testify about ineptness. They want criminal justice. DiGenova said he doesn’t blame the agents at all for wanting a way to speak out. He added, “I think that the FBI is in freefall. James Comey has destroyed the institution he claims to love. And it is beyond doubt that it is going to take a decade to restore public confidence because of Comey and Clapper and Brennan and Obama and Lynch.”

These agents don’t just want to see people fired. Every Special Agent in the Washington Field Office that has spoken to DiGenova wants McCabe “prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”

Feelings about Comey are the same if not worse. One agent that worked counter-terrorism and criminal cases said he is personally offended when Comey says “we” and “I’ve been an investigator.”

He added, “Comey was never an investigator or special agent. The special agents are trained investigators and they are insulted that Comey included them in ‘collective we’ statements in his testimony to imply that the SAs agreed that there was nothing there to prosecute.”

Another agent agreed that Comey has stood in the way of “a lot of prosecution”, most notably the whole Hillary Clinton – DNC email scandal.

Most agents within the FBI were attracted there because they did see it as the premier law enforcement agency in the land. The reason some want to come forward under oath is to stem the tide of the politicization that has hand tied their efforts. One agent said, “Go against the Muslim Brotherhood, you’re crushed. Go against the Clintons, you’re crushed. The FBI has long been politicized to the detriment of national security and law enforcement.”

DiGenova also told The Daily Caller a subpoena is preferred as opposed to being an official government whistleblower due to “legitimate” fear of professional and political reprisals.

DiGenova and his wife, Victoria Toensing, have represented government whistleblowers in the past and know the financial burden and professional jeopardy that is risked by making such a move.

A subpoena is preferred said DiGenova, “because when you are subpoenaed, Congress then pays…for your legal counsel and the subpoena protects [the agent] from any organizational retaliation…. they are on their own as whistleblowers, they get no legal protection and there will be organizational retaliation against them.”

These agents are honest people who simply want to tell what they know without fear of reprisal. They actually want to be subpoenaed because leadership in the Bureau can’t stop them from testifying if called forward by Congress. As one agents said, “All Congress needs to do is subpoena involved personnel and they will tell you what they know.”

Agents like those who have asked to be subpoenaed are the true heroes of this whole sordid affair and with the DOJ Inspector General’s report on the way, they look to play a vital role in greasing the wheels of justice.
