If you’re a fan of either late night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel or Fox News anchor Sean Hannity then you’re probably aware that the two have been having a bit of a feud of late. Their battle of words got rather heated and left one man claiming victory.
Jimmy Kimmel, as you’re aware, is a late night “comedy” show host on a major network. He is the former co-host to Adam Corolla on The Man Show and is accustomed to taking all kinds of flak for his irreverent jokes that have been called chauvinist…and not without reason.
But over the last two years, he’s been doing his worst to be the left’s mascot on just about all of the major virtue signaling topics. He has trotted out his own kids to push a left-wing political agenda, cried on camera on a fairly regular basis, and basically used his platform, and an apparent lack of testicular fortitude, to shill for the left.
Okay, so he’s a demagog. But it gets worse than that. Not only does he totally tow the line for CNN, and carry water for Hillary ‘we came, we saw, he died’ Clinton, he is also has a textbook case of TDS: Trump Derangement Syndrome. Ever since Donald Trump became a serious contender for the presidency, Kimmel has used his stage to promote hatred toward him and to repeat everything CNN and MSNBC had made up about Trump that day.
Up until the recent gun debate, Sean Hannity really didn’t have much interest in the former Man Show comedian. But Kimmel pushed his rhetoric too far. Needless to say, Kimmel has been insulting people who support the political enemies of the DNC for a few years. He had been calling Trump supporters, Christians, conservatives, and 2nd Amendment advocates all manner of names. Mostly, he’s been calling them some variation of stupid or evil. No surprise there.
But where Hannity had got his fill of Kimmel was where the late-night host aimed his misinformed vitriol at gun advocates over the parkland shooting. Kimmel joined in with the parkland students and the “March for Our Lives” adherents in insulting people who only want to have the power to protect their families from violence by possessing the necessary technology.
Before the feud came to a head, it’s fair to say that the anti-gun side of the argument took their rhetoric too far. They yelled “burn her” at NRA spokeswoman Dana Loesch as she tried to reason with a crowd of emotional children.
David Hogg told Marco Rubio that if he didn’t support a full gun ban that he was as guilty of the killings as Nikolas Cruz. And of course, the entire March for Our Lives event was staged fully with under the banner that people who own guns are working hand in hand with actual killers.
Kimmel has marched in lockstep with all these insults, and lies- and that’s what really set Sean Hannity off. Hannity called Kimmel out for his irresponsible rhetoric. He called him out for disrespecting our nation’s First Lady Melania Trump for her accent and other reasons that were essentially racist and sexist. He put Kimmel in the hot seat for finger-wagging at the entire country in an obsequious way. But most of all, he put Kimmel on notice over his salivating pandering to the now weaponized Me Too movement.
Hannity pointed out that Kimmel has a well-documented history of sexually harassing women on camera- as his opening bit. He then warned Kimmel that it was only a matter of time before the left wing mob he supports turns its teeth, dripping with venom as they are, against him.
It would seem that this got Kimmel’s attention, and he has issued an official apology. Kimmel wrote, “While I admit I did have fun with our back and forth, after some thought, I realize that the level of vitriol from all sides (mine and me included) does nothing good for anyone and, in fact, is harmful to our country.”
He goes on. “I am hopeful that Sean Hannity will learn from this too and continue his newly-found advocacy for women, immigrants, and First Ladies and that he will triumph in his heroic battle against sexual harassment and perversion.”
This apology, we don’t have to tell you, is completely disingenuous. Nevertheless, Hannity accepted it.
And this is a good time for conservatives to be reminded that when leftists apologize to us, we accept it gracefully. But when we apologize to them- they take it as an admission of guilt and go for the throat.
