Is There Space for One More on Mount Rushmore?

In the short year-and-a-half that Donald Trump has been in office, he has already had a more consequential presidency than the last four administrations combined. One could argue that the wars of Bush and Obama were more consequential, but that is only true in the negative sense. In terms of make America better, stronger, more prosperous and more peaceful, the win goes to Trump.

This is, of course, being written after North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un made his historic trip to South Korea to meet with President Moon Jae-In to sign a peace agreement. The cameras focused on the two Korean leaders for this momentous event, but the shadow of a third figure loomed over them for the entire meeting: that of President Trump.

Although the treasonous American media insists that this had nothing to do with the man in the White House, South Korea’s foreign minister summed it up nicely: “Clearly credit goes to President Trump.”

For months we were assured that President Trump was a lunatic who was going to get us into World War 3 with China and Russia because of his threats to Kim Jong Un. How this was happening when Trump was busy colluding with puppet-master Putin was unclear. Yet now that the dust has settled, a completely different picture of what was happening has emerged.

Trump met Kim Jong Un’s bluster and propaganda with a language that he would understand: Strength. We will crush you. Fire and fury. Look out, Little Rocket Man!

Rather than launching a nuke at Alaska, Kim Jong Un now signals that he is ready, willing and able to denuclearize, so long as America promises not to invade. Peace and reunification between North and South Korea? This is not something that most Americans believed they would ever see in their lifetime.

Kim Jong Un’s father and grandfather were typical communist proxy dictators – puppets of China and the former Soviet empire. They always knew that they could double down on their saber-rattling because no one wanted to risk an escalation with China. That is most likely the wedge that President Trump used to bring North Korea to the bargaining table.

What does it all mean? What happens if this nation of Korea, which has been in a civil war longer than most Americans have been alive, finally reunifies?

What does it mean for the US military? We have had troops stationed on the demilitarized zone for decades. Will that suddenly-unnecessary station be shut down? It seems likely, based on Trump’s non-interventionist strategy.

What does it mean for Asia? A denuclearized Korea is obviously good in the short term. But what happens now that Japan has one less threat to worry about and can focus solely on China? What will China do without its nuclearized proxy nation to keep the world on edge?

What does it mean for the American people? We have a massive trade deficit with South Korea due to the Bush administration’s agreement with that country, the Korea-US Free Trade Agreement. American middle-class manufacturing jobs have been gutted and many of those jobs ended up in South Korea. If South Korea no longer exists and the map simply says, “Korea,” the KORUS FTA could be null and void, allowing the Trump administration to go back to the bargaining table for a better deal for America.

What does this mean for the mainstream media? They told you that the president is crazy, and he would get you killed, and instead he has brought two warring parties to the bargaining table. Troops and jobs could be coming home as a consequence. Everything the media told you was wrong.

Instead of covering the Korea situation honestly and earnestly as the earth-shaking event that it is, the mainstream media held its annual White House Correspondents’ Dinner. It was crass and vulgar, complete with vagina jokes and insults hurled at Sarah Huckabee-Sanders and Kellyanne Conway. Have you ever seen such a group of unworthy hacks, congratulating each other on their progressivism instead of doing their job, which is to simply report the news?

The backlash from that dinner will hopefully be felt all the way through the 2018 midterms. Hopefully Republican PACs are already cutting ads from the material, to show the voters just how much the media truly hates us all.

Instead of attending the dinner, President Trump once again did what he does best – he took his message directly to the people, holding a rally in Michigan. He was at his very best once again, funny, relevant and letting the American people know once again that he loves us, loves our nation and loves our Constitution.

A lot of noteworthy conservatives are losing faith in President Trump. You’ve heard them: “Where’s our wall?” “Why hasn’t Obamacare been repealed?” And so on.

If you are finding yourself in that category, first consider the opposition to President Trump’s very existence, and then consider what has been accomplished so far. The media elites scream “RUSSIA!” every time that President Trump appears in public (and even when he doesn’t appear in public.)

This is despite the House Intelligence Committee’s 250-page report detailing that there is no evidence that any collusion between President Trump, his family, his campaign or his associates ever took place with Russia.

Stormy Daniels. Senator Fauxcahontas Warren. Insulting failed liberal has-been John McCain on the campaign trail. Everyone from Clinton underling James Comey to Eric Holder to Barack Obama has told us that President Trump is mentally and morally unfit for office.

Yet our taxes have been cut. Our jobs are coming back. ISIS has been smashed. The EPA has been eviscerated. Federal regulations are being eliminated for the first time ever. Al Gore’s Paris global warming unicorn treaty has been scrapped. America is out of the job-killing Trans-Pacific Partnership. You didn’t have to pay an Obamacare tax penalty this year. The two Koreas are in peace talks.

So what if the wall hasn’t been built? It will be. Have patience. The crowd in Michigan was chanting, “Nobel! Nobel!” when President Trump spoke of the Korean peace agreement. Don’t hold your hopes out for that to happen. In the long run, it won’t matter if President Trump doesn’t earn a Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts. As always, the people will know the truth, even if the media is still busily hunting Russian agents in the shrubbery on one of Trump’s golf courses.
