This is one of those come to Jesus moments when you can see without a shadow of doubt that the left wing liberals in the media do not care about what is right, true, or fair. They only care that people on their team get into positions of power.
Joy Ann Reid, the MSNBC TV host, has recently had some dark points from her past revealed by researchers who used The Way Back Machine to find bigoted posts from a blog page she used to run. The anti-gay posts are not what’s important here. She has, after all, apologized- sort of. What is important is the liberal double standard that is revealed by the reaction.
First, some context. The Way Back Machine is a web crawler that scans the Internet and records content so that when it is deleted, it can still be found. It’s a great place to play retro video games, and to find dirt on people who thought they could cover up their digital pasts.
Now, about Reid’s posts. It’s worth noting that they were the liberal form of anti-gay. It’s a type of gay bashing that reveals a hatred for gays by accusing one’s political opponents of being gay. The way it works is, liberals assume conservatives hate and fear gays and gayness. So, they believe that we will be harmed or upset if they call us gay. Yes, we know, it’s intensely stupid and juvenile- but what can you do?
What’s telling about it is that it reveals what Progressives really think about this group of people that they claim to want to protect and promote. It shows that they really think gays are silly and pathetic and cannot do well on their own. It’s the same opinion they have of all minorities, ‘You can’t make it without our help, because you’re weak and the white man hates you for your weakness.’ So, Reid used to like to call conservatives gay in a number of ways because she thought it would shame them.
Needless to say, she has disavowed the posts. First, she apologized, then she said she didn’t write the posts. It’s funny because she obviously doesn’t understand what The Way Back Machine is. Now, she has asked the FBI to look into the issue, claiming that someone hacked her account and wrote the posts.
The thing is, the hacking would have had to have happened when the posts are dated, in the 2000s. She wasn’t famous back then. Nobody even cared. That’s probably why she had the temerity to make the posts in the first place.
Nevertheless, the FBI did get involved and concluded no one hacked her blog or her accounts and no one went back to change Reid’s original content. In conclusion, SHE WROTE IT HERSELF!
What’s upsetting about this is the liberal double standard.
We do not want Reid destroyed (although we wouldn’t be upset if she was chastised by her party). We’re satisfied that she disavowed the posts- though it was disingenuous- and now she’s wasting taxpayer money by getting the FBI involved. But we don’t try to destroy people for their mistakes, or for disagreeing with us. Going after people’s livelihoods over political opinion is Fascism.
But the left is different. They do try to destroy people for their mistakes. They do try to ruin careers, break up families, and often even encourage violence against their political enemies. But that’s just it, isn’t it? Joy Reid is not their political enemy. She is their political ally. So it doesn’t matter if she violated a so-called liberal standard. She’s on their team. She gets a pass.
If a conservative has said these things, the left would be in the fight for blood. Just look at the Donald Trump privates grabbing comment. It’s twenty years old and referred to the fact that some women are gold diggers. He even said, “they’ll let you…” He didn’t say, “I grab them…”
But the left doesn’t care. It’s not about right or wrong with them. It’s about destroying people they don’t like, and that is evil.
Make no mistake. If Tucker Carlson was found to have written blog posts saying things like, “Apparently the Golden Globes pretty much awarded statues to anything with a homosexual character in it…” there would be marches outside Fox that night.
If Sean Hannity ever asked the question, “What’s the gayest thing on Capitol Hill,” there would be a bucket of tar and feathers with his name on it.
The double standard here is not to be taken lightly. It is not an accident. The mental fog of postmodernism is not there to improve the world or make it a better kinder place. It is there to destroy a class of people who believe right and wrong are immutable and who cannot be convinced otherwise.
