In an act of religious pyrotechnic zealotry normally only found in Hamas suicide bombers, ABC/Disney just canceled the highest-rated scripted program on network television. The reason? The star of the show, Roseanne Barr, made a joke on Twitter that everyone would have laughed at if she had said it in the year 2000.
But since the Democrat Party has been fully taken over by the Neo-Victorian Antifa sissies of the social justice movement, everyone is supposed to screech, “Heavens to Betsy!” and run for the fainting couch.
Roseanne was a cash cow for ABC. In a sea of social justice, white guilt, and anti-Christian bigotry, it was the one program on network television that sought to portray Trump supporters in an occasionally positive light. That was Roseanne Barr’s real sin and ABC was looking for any excuse to purge her.
Liberals were willing to sacrifice tens of millions of dollars and millions of primetime viewers to prevent Americans from seeing one person who doesn’t start foaming at the mouth at the mention of the President of the United States.
Roseanne’s offensive tweet was directed at Barack Obama’s Muslim Brotherhood handler in the White House, Valerie Jarrett. Roseanne tweeted that Jarret looked like the Muslim Brotherhood had a baby with the Planet of the Apes.
Not too many years ago in America, any comedian could have made that joke, and everyone would have laughed at it. Eddie Murphy, Richard Prior, Jerry Seinfeld, Jay Leno, Robin Williams, you name it. If they had said it in 1995, we all would have laughed at it.
When you think about it, which the left definitely does not want you to do, leftwing media figures say things on a daily basis about conservatives and President Trump that make Roseanne’s tweet look mild by comparison.
Watch any profanity-laced rant about President Trump that is delivered by Robert DeNiro, Stephen King or Alec Baldwin if you doubt this. Liberals even get away with saying horrible things about their own supporters. Let’s examine the double standard for a moment.
Joy Reid of MSNBC used to have a personal blog where she frequently made mean-spirited statements about homosexuals. Homophobia is, of course, one of the greatest sins of the modern Democrat Party’s religion. It’s practically up there with Islamophobia and not recycling your plastic milk jugs!
But Joy Reid gets to make a vague non-apology, claim that hackers somehow planted her anti-gay blog posts on her now-defunct blog, and she gets to keep her job. The tone-deaf executives in the newsroom even trotted Joy Reid out to remark on Roseanne’s offensive tweets (how’s that for irony?).
Anderson Cooper used to titter for 20 minutes straight anytime that he referred to Tea Party members as “Teabaggers” – a reference to a vile homosexual act that Cooper is probably all too familiar with. No one chastised Cooper. He still has his job.
Since Roseanne is being punished for her “anti-immigrant” sentiment for a tweet against Valerie Jarrett, how about the Jimmy Kimmel double standard? Kimmel mocks Melania Trump’s accent and makes vile jokes about her and President Trump on a nightly basis. Yet because Kimmel can make himself cry on cue when discussing Obamacare or gun control, he is immune from the #MeToo movement despite filming himself forcing young women to grope his crotch.
Kimmel’s career doesn’t seem to be in any danger of being derailed because of his vitriol for conservatives. And again – Kimmel makes his comments on air every night, whereas Roseanne’s statement was made on Twitter, outside of her program.
Comedienne Michelle Wolf recently roasted President Trump and Executive branch staffers at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. Wolf’s disgusting comments on Sarah Huckabee Sanders’ looks earned her a Netflix special. Yet we are supposed to be outraged that Roseanne commented on Valerie Jarrett’s looks? Michelle Wolf, for the record, looks like the Planet of the Apes had a baby with Carrot Top.
ABC/Disney’s ritual seppuku over Roseanne’s tweet is further evidence of why liberals should never be allowed in power. They would literally throw their own mothers in front of a moving subway train if it would advance their cause in any way. What kind of executive decides to throw millions of dollars down the toilet because of a comment made outside the workplace? Ladies and gentlemen: The Democrat Party!
Roseanne’s biggest mistake was in apologizing for her tweet. One of the main reasons why Donald Trump is so consistently victorious over the left is because he never apologizes for his comments. As Vox Day points out in his bestseller, “SJWs Always Lie,” SJWs don’t really want an apology when they demand one – because they are not normal people. An apology is simply an admission of guilt that SJWs can use to start the public show trial. Instead of apologizing, Roseanne should have followed President Trump’s lead and doubled down on her comments.
But because she apologized, Roseanne will now be sent to the ideological gulag. She’ll have to disappear for a few years and will only be allowed back on television after a sufficient time of absence, followed by self-flagellation and crying on a Barbara Walters special. She will have to “Mel Gibson” herself if she wants to have any hope of future career redemption.
Here’s another thing to think about. Roseanne Barr was the only Trump supporter on the Roseanne show that we know about. The rest are progressive Hollywood liberals. ABC/Disney fired all of them for their proximity to Roseanne. If they’ll eat their own in such a fashion, just imagine the depths of evil that liberals will go to in order to oppress you and your family. They don’t care if they destroy your career and your children starve.
Sarah Gilbert, Laurie Metcalf and the other cast members of Roseanne no doubt have bills to pay and families to feed. Their careers were going nowhere fast and now it’s back to the bread lines for them. Film star John Goodman is likely the only Democrat on the entire show whose career won’t suffer too much of a hiccup because of the cancellation.
It’s like a metaphor for gun control. Democrats want to take firearms away from every law-abiding American because someone else committed a crime (but they’ll keep their own guns and security details, just like they keep their Joy Reids and Jimmy Kimmels, thank you very much). Liberals don’t care that other liberals’ careers were damaged by the cancellation. They had a Trump supporter to squash!
