Russian Lobbyists Connected to Fusion GPS Offer the Real Culprits of Collusion

Robert Mueller’s open-ended special investigation of claims of the Trump campaign ‘collusion’ with Russian agents appears to be coming apart at the seams. First came the negative decisions of three federal judges in the Paul Manafort case and now we are hearing word of some unexpected findings of Fusion GPS, the source of the dossier that first fueled the fires of what President Trump has termed a ‘witch hunt.’

Mueller has enjoyed unbridled rule over Washington for much of the last year but a new look at the source that got it all started may spell the end to his unfettered investigation into Trump campaign connections to Moscow.

As Darren Samuelsohn of Poltico said, Mueller’s days of “arresting suspects, winning plea deals and handing down indictments at will” had a big roadblock thrown in his way last week.

The wall that Mueller’s team has run into is recent testimony the Senate Judiciary Committee released that shows a curious relationship between Rinat Akhmetshi, a Russian individual who was one of the people at the Trump Tower meeting with Donald Trump, Jr and Jared Kushner, and Glenn Simpson, the co-founder of Fusion GPS.

Emails from Akhmetshi show he views Simpson as his ‘colleague,’ and reveal that the real story of ‘Russian collusion’ involved Fusion GPS and the Democratic National Party (DNC).

Fusion GPS, who paid for the dossier written by Christopher Steele that has been all but debunked, had an unusual connection with the Russian lobbyist. Akhmetshi is the person who set up and attended the now infamous Trump Tower meeting.

According to Donald Trump Jr., he was told the meeting would concern opposition research useful in his father’s run against Hillary Clinton. Further, Trump had been told he might receive information that confirmed she had ties with Russia.

It’s at this point where things begin to look like a cheap knock of a Tom Clancy spy novel. Not only did Akhmetshi have ties to Fusion GPS, but also to Russian attorney Natalia Veselnitskaya. Though yet to be proven, she was working as an agent of the Kremlin.

Trump Jr. freely admits that he went to the meeting in hopes it would offer some tangible information about his father’s opponent. Instead, the meeting quickly turned to Veselnitskaya seeking to have a bill passed in 2012 reversed. The Magnitsky Act was enacted to punish Russian officials who were believed to have a part in the death of Sergei Magnitsky, a Russian tax accountant who died in a Moscow prison in 2009.

The sequence of events appears to show that Fusion GPS manipulated the Trump Tower meeting for its own ends. Considering the players involved it is almost certain that the fabrication of the Steele dossier and the Trump Tower meeting were set up in hopes of placing the Trump campaign into a precarious position which it could not explain.

The plot thickened when it was revealed that the person who initiated the entire meeting was Aras Agalarov, a man with deep ties to Vladimir Putin.

There are a number of questions that remain to be answered: Was Agalarov working for his country to encourage discord and chaos in the presidential campaign while Russian organizations did the same through posts to social media? Was Akhmetshi, who has ties to Glen Simpson and other deep state members, seeking to cast a cloud over the Trump campaign?

There is no doubt about this – Fusion GPS has still not answered to the fact that it was working for the Russians at the same time it was compiling the Steele “dossier” on the Trump campaign. Before and during the Mueller investigation, Fusion GPS was working on the behalf of an oligarch connected to the Kremlin while also paying Christopher Steele to concoct his document of half-truths and blatant lies.

Never forget that the money trail leads directly back to the Hillary Clinton Campaign and the DNC.

Another certainty is that none of the media leaks or biased reports concerning the Steele dossier happened by accident. The timing and planning surrounding the claims of collusion reveal the hand of some entity behind them. The only question is what was Akhmetshi’s role?

Radio Free Europe has dubbed Akhmetshi a Russian “gun for hire.” Courthouse News reported that “Akhmetshi, once a Russian government official, has for at least the last decade worked as a lobbyist in Washington, D.C.”

Whatever has been going on behind the scenes, the path to collusion leads straight to the back door of the DNC, not the White House.
