The Hidden Message Liberals Are Missing in the New Avenger’s Movie

“Avengers: Infinity War” is huge. It’s already one of the biggest movies of all time, and people are continuing to talk about it. Whether you love or hate these movies (and this one in particular), there is no avoiding the cultural significance. A ton of people across the globe have watched the film, and many have taken it to heart.

The left has largely praised it. Many on the right have had negative things to say. Both groups are being biased.

I’m not here to tell you if this movie was good or bad. Instead, I’m going to point out that the main storyline was one of the most severe criticisms of leftism to ever come out of Hollywood. Before we dive in, here is the obligatory spoiler warning.

Eugenics

The left has been obsessed with population control for many decades. At least as early as the 60s they were predicting that global populations would reach unsustainable numbers. Their early guesses were that the planet would never have more than 7 billion humans. There just aren’t enough resources.

Contrary to that claim, the current population is over 7.5 billion and poverty is at an all-time low. Whoops!

It’s been at the root of their narrative for a long time, and they’ve used it to justify many heinous and inhumane policies. We’ll get into some of those in a minute, but first, let’s tie this back to Infinity War.

The plot of the movie is as follows: Thanos is an insanely powerful alien character. He beats up the strongest avenger (the Hulk) in the opening sequence just to make that point. His plan, as he explains in his own words, is to gather the magic infinity stones. When he has them all, he will have the power to do literally anything. His goal is to use that power to instantly eradicate exactly half of all life in the universe.

The premise of Thanos’ plan is to wipe out half the population of the universe in order to prevent resource strain. Now, an intelligent person could imagine a number of ways to better use the power he obtains, but he is committed to population control as a means to save humanity.

Here’s where things get clever, if not completely brilliant. The movie obviously paints Thanos as a villain because murdering half of everyone is clearly an evil move. Yet, this is the backstory that is designed to make him relatable. Everyone who truly believes in leftism finds Thanos to be compassionate and understandable because deep down, they have a similar goal.

All of the environmentalism and green plans are a thinly veiled covers for the left’s real desire: Liberals want to see humanity and its civilizations destroyed.

It’s why they continue to embrace socialism after so many disastrous failures. Many may not even fully realize it, but they believe in the inarguable necessity of human extinction. The character of Thanos points this out, and then it harshly criticizes liberal ideology by presenting him as the ultimate evil in this movie universe.

Abortion

That covers the deeper, underlying issues, but there is a practical criticism in this movie. The way Thanos justifies his universal genocide is in the methodology. He explains to some of the heroes in the movie that his intentions are noble. More importantly, from his point of view, his methods are fine because it’s painless. He isn’t going to strangle or stab half the people in the universe. He will use the power of his magic stones to simply remove them from existence. It will be painless, and all worlds will be better for it. Does this sound familiar?

This is the core of the liberal argument for abortion. They use twisted logic to justify the necessity of infanticide. From there, they argue that abortion is actually compassionate because it is painless (which is arguable at best). They aren’t killing babies. They’re simply preventing them from being born.

What more humane way could there be to control a population and prevent resource strain?

Of course, the movie is still aimed at mainstream audiences, so it doesn’t delve too deeply into the many facets of abortion arguments. Instead, it settles on condemning the overarching ideology. Eugenics and genocide can almost sound reasonable when you present them well, but in the end, they are true, unmitigated evil.

The Russo Brothers

Now, you might be thinking that I’m reading too much into this. Maybe these lessons appear in the movie, but it’s an accident. Well, here’s a compelling reason to think the Russo Brothers did this on purpose. They’ve done it before.

The first time the pair made a movie for the Disney Marvel studios, it was Captain America: Winter Soldier. If you haven’t seen it or don’t remember it well, the movie is about Captain America fighting against a corrupted and evil government agency that is trying to expand surveillance and control over civilian bodies. It’s not an original theme, but consider the timing.

The Russos started making the movie right after Obama and Congress expanded the Patriot Act and the deep state for the second time. It’s one of the few moves Obama made that received any audible criticism from the left, but for the most part, the mainstream left it alone.

In response, the Russo Brothers made a movie that harshly criticized government overreach and attempts to justify a deep surveillance state. They then reinforced that message with Captain America: Civil War. The pair has never been shy about using their position in Hollywood to make political statements, and surprisingly, those statements are often harsh criticisms of the left.

Once again, I’m not here to tell you that you should or shouldn’t like this movie. Instead, I’m criticizing the left. They are celebrating a movie that is clearly intended to condemn some of their most treasured beliefs. No matter how you dress it, abortion is eugenics, and eugenics is genocide. There is no defending this evil. As so many staunch leftists have ironically identified, you don’t have to kill people to manage resources. You can simply create more.
