Beware Conservatives: Uber Drivers May Kick You Out if They Find Out You Support the President

Each day brings a new example of just how intolerant the supposedly free-thinking, peace-loving, and tolerant progressive left is. Now it seems, supporting any Republican will get you kicked out of at least an Uber driver’s car.

Six young Republican campaign volunteers report their Uber driver kicked them out of his car halfway to their destination and said “welcome to the resistance” before he drove away. The six were hitting the campaign trail for North Carolina Republican Reps. Mark Meadows, George Holding, and Mark Walker, as well as North Carolina Lt. Governor Dan Forest, North Carolina State Republican Rep. Chris Malone, and Mark Harris, a candidate for the House of Representatives.

The Uber incident is not isolated but rather a trend of harassment and denial of service simply because a person seeking a ride was Republican. A congressional intern was denied service by an Uber this past Tuesday because he wore a “Make America Great Again Hat.”

Chris Godbey, another one of the riders in the Raleigh incident told the Daily Caller:

“For an individual to blatantly target Young Republicans for their political outlook is an assault on the freedoms guaranteed by the First Amendment. While business owners should have the freedom to provide the service as they see fit, once a contract has been entered, breaking that contract is inappropriate and to do so based on discrimination for political beliefs is unlawful.”

Intolerance, hatred, and outright open warfare has been standard operating procedure on the extreme left for a long time. But this is different warns Steven Crowder, host of the Louder With Crowder podcast. Thanks to enablers among the media and Democrat leaders, he says the actions that once lurked in the shadows has become dangerously “mainstream.” Here are some of the ways in just the past weeks that the left has expressed its “tolerance” for those it disagrees with:

  • A liberal threatened to kill Rep. Lee Zeldin (R) and Trump supporters at his campaign headquarters. According to news accounts of the incident, as he left, he nearly ran over a campaign staffer with his automobile.
  • A bookstore owner in Richmond, Va., called the police after a woman began harassing former Trump advisor Steven Bannon, who happened to be browsing in the store at the time. Former Clinton aide Philippe Reines followed up by tweeting out the bookstore owner’s contact information, in an attempt to encourage attacks on the store. He defended the tweet, saying, “I’m providing a service.”
  • In Boynton Beach, FL., and enraged Trump critic allegedly punched a homeowner for putting a Trump flag in his front yard. Witnesses say the “tolerant” leftist dragged the homeowner 30 feet as he drove away.
  • Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell was followed out of a restaurant in Kentucky by a group of protestors shouting “vote you out” and “we know where you live, bitch.”

Brandon Straka, the gay former liberal spawned the #walkaway trend on Twitter by saying “the Left devolved into intolerant, inflexible, illogical, hateful, misguided, ill-informed, un-American, hypocritical, menacing, callous, ignorant, narrow-minded, and at times blatantly fascistic behavior and rhetoric.”

Straka learned the hard way that the left does not believe free speech extends to him. He tweeted last Thursday: “I just went into a camera store to buy a camera and a light and mic, etc., and they recognized me from TV. I was refused service because they said it was for ‘alt-right’ purposes.”

Thankfully, a few noted liberals have been willing to call these leftist haters hand. Alan Dershowitz has found himself in the crosshairs of his not so peaceful compatriots. He made the mistake of questioning the merits of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation and now he is persona non grata. He says a friend overheard a woman at a party on Martha’s Vineyard say, “if Dershowitz were here tonight, I’d stab him through the heart.”

Horror novelist and dedicated Trump-hater Steven King sent a tweet over July 4 that encouraged progressives to “go find a Trump-supporting friend … and give him or her a hug. Trumpies, find a ‘liberal snowflake’ friend and do the same. Just for today, let’s all be Americans.”

Someone tweeted in response, “The scariest thing you’ve ever written.” Hordes of his other million fans expressed disbelief that he would dare encourage civility.

Democrats and the press have been busy normalizing abusive, violent, and intolerant behavior. As Crowder said, “this is just the beginning”.
