Beware – Nothing Is Sacred to the Left Any Longer

For any Americans who thought that, perhaps, the funerals of Aretha Franklin and John McCain would provide a few moments for everyone to stop hyperventilating about Donald Trump’s ickiness, boy were they in for a surprise! Both funerals were turned into hyper-partisan festivals of Trump-bashing. To hell with decorum, etiquette, or reverence for the dearly departed. We’ve got Literally Hitler to stop!

Remember the good old days when a person would die, and everyone would stop blabbing for a few minutes? Perhaps hold a moment of silence, out of respect for the dead person’s family? Everyone’s grandmother used to remind us that if you can’t say something nice about someone, don’t say anything at all.

That was the nice way of dealing with the death of someone – even an adversary – and Trump exhibited this magnificently by restraining himself from speaking ill of McCain. He also showered Aretha Franklin with praise for her voice, which was truly a gift from God.

Instead of a celebration of the lives of these two notable, famous Americans (see how we said nice and neutral things there), virtually every eulogizer used their time at the microphone to bash President Trump. It was crass, callow, childish, self-righteous and disrespectful to the memories of both Franklin and McCain. It was like a three-hour PTSD flashback to Barack Obama’s first year in office.

Obama, speaking at McCain’s funeral, referred to President Trump as small, mean, petty, bombastic and insulting. It was the first speech Obama has ever given where he didn’t refer to himself 157 times, so at least the late McCain can be grateful for that. America, not so much.

We’ve all come to expect tasteless, low-class, out-of-his-league maneuvers like this from Barack Obama, though. During his first month in office, British Prime Minister sent Obama a gift made from a piece of wood from the slave ship Amistad, made famous by the Spielberg film of the same name. It was a thoughtful, classy gift for the first partial African American president to be elected in America, regardless of anyone’s personal feelings for Obama.

Barack Obama, in turn, sent Gordon Brown a boxed set of Star Wars movies, encoded so they’ll only run on American DVD players. Stay classy, Mr. Affirmative Action President!

At McCain’s funeral, former President George W. Bush and even McCain’s own daughter got in their subtle and not-so-subtle digs against Donald Trump. These people have absolutely no shame. Ivanka Trump and her husband are practically saints for sitting through the whole ordeal without slapping anyone.

It’s a good thing they didn’t go to the Aretha Franklin memorial, otherwise Al Sharpton and Louis Farrakhan might have started a riot to get the “hymies” out of the room.

Okay, McCain was in politics, he was always partisan, liberal and way too backstabby when it counted the most, and he was widely reviled as the face of the elites within the Republican Party. They took their cheap shots at the president and, so what? At least there was still Aretha Franklin’s funeral to remind us that we are all Americans and there was nothing that could possibly be politicized about that, right?

Eh, not so much.

In fact, the left started launching partisan attacks before poor Aretha had even hit the ground. Stevie Wonder blamed her cancer on “global warming.” Yes, if only we had elected Al Gore in 2000, imposed restrictive carbon taxes on all Americans, turned over all our wealth to the United Nations for redistribution to China and India, and began living in grass huts with no electricity and San Francisco’s current sanitation plan… Aretha Franklin would still be alive?

You see, Stevie, here’s how it works. When you politicize a legendary singer’s death like that, you give us permission to politicize it in the opposite direction. In your example, millions of Americans are suddenly glad that Aretha is dead. Still having fun with your partisan horse manure?

Then, the organizers of Aretha’s funeral deliberately put four of earth’s Top 10 Worst People Ever in the front row. There they were: Louis Farrakhan, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and Slick Willie. If you were to make a painting of them standing in a row like that, as one astute Twitter user observed, you could title the piece, “Three Racists and a Rapist.” It was loads of fun, however, watching the lamestream fake news media crop hate-monger Farrakhan out of all of the photos to make it look like it was just Al, Jesse and Slick Willie there.

Liberals and elite globalists have no respect for the living or the dead, which is how we end up with spectacles like the McCain and Franklin Trump-bashing orgies. Things used to be different. People used to be able to just shut their mouths when a famous person died, but not anymore! Trump occupies so much head space for all of these elitists that they just can’t shut up.

There is this peculiar belief they seem to have in which, if a person on their side of the political aisle dies, they suddenly have moral authority to overturn the democratic process. “We have suffered a loss and therefore, not only must you listen to us, but you must also obey!”

The anti-gun students of the Parkland High shooting are flush with cash from George Soros, and smarmy crisis actor Brat Hogg is willing to curse on any show that will give him air time, so Americans MUST abolish the Second Amendment! John McCain and Aretha Franklin died, so we need to have open borders, high taxes and a return to joblessness!

Is that really how we want it to work in America? If Pat Buchanan were to pass away suddenly, could we pull the troops out of eastern Europe and finally abolish NATO? (Note: We hope Pat is here to agitate the left for many years to come and in no way wish any harm to befall him.)

The partisan left used the two funerals to try to goad President Trump into fighting back, so they could turn around and talk about what a tasteless cad Donald Trump is for ruining the John McCain/Aretha Franklin funeral. Once again, Trump was too smart for his enemies and did not take the bait. By staying silent, he managed to out-class his opponents at every level.
