Coronavirus has proven itself to be the most dangerous event in American history. No, it’s not because the virus is so overwhelmingly deadly. Instead, this virus is our most dangerous movement because we have allowed it to be an excuse for authoritarianism and shut down our economy for two straight months.
By the time the damage is tallied, the Civil War is going to look like a weekend picnic. We’ll likely be cleaning up this mess for years to come.
That sounds pretty bad, but let’s use the latest announcement from California’s Governor Gavin Newsom as an example. Before we get to it, we have to set the stage.
We knew these lockdowns were a sham when all of the liberal leadership in the country used the virus as an excuse to release prisoners from jail. This has been a leftist agenda item for a long time. If they can release prisoners and give them voting rights, that’s one more swath of power.
Leftists are so out of whack that they thought it was a good idea to release violent and sexual criminals, while jailing people who had the audacity to go to work. Democrats believe it’s too dangerous for a convicted rapist to be in jail because they might catch coronavirus, but it’s also too dangerous to let a stylist cut hair while wearing a mask and limiting the number of people in the shop.
Do they really think we can’t see through this?
Well, California is almost ready to let go of all pretense. They have let go record numbers of sexual offenders, and they have created a revolving door of criminals who are committing violent crimes but can’t be charged, jailed or prosecuted because of lockdown orders. So, they keep committing crimes. California property and violent crime reports are hitting new records.
Proud of all of this, Governor Newsom just announced his latest plan. He’s going to permanently shut down two state prisons (out of a total of 34). The excuse is that this will save $400 million a year (while they suffer a deficit of $54 billion a year). What’s even more insane is that while this is his plan he’s EXPANDING programs for illegal immigrants that will cost well over $150 million a year!
All pretense aside, Newsom likes the chaos. As a leftist, he appreciates any plan that makes people more dependent on the state, and a massive crime wave in a place where citizens are not allowed to own guns to defend themselves seems to fit that bill pretty well. Plus, he gets to virtue signal while he continues to drive his state into total bankruptcy.
For anyone wondering, yes, the plan on the left is total failure. And, no, they’re not clueless. The goal is to make our society fail on as many fronts as possible. A failed society is not a free society.
When enough collapse is upon us, they plan to completely overhaul the system and usher in the Communist States of America. It’s been the plan for about a hundred years.
Unfortunately, we’ve grown so soft that we’ve decided that an outbreak of the seasonal flu is a perfect reason to let them have their way.
