CBS Reporter Lara Logan Blows the Lid Off Liberal Bias in the Media…Then Gets Fired for It

South African news correspondent and investigative journalist Lara Logan told an inconvenient truth in a recent interview. During a 3 hour podcast with Breitbart’s Mike Ritland, the “60 Minutes” correspondent brought up the fact that the majority of the mainstream media outlets skew liberal, put out biased news and most journalists are registered Democrats.

In a confession-like interview that she called “professional suicide,” the tough-as-nails reporter was summarily released by CBS, where she had worked as the network’s chief foreign affairs correspondent since 2006. During that and subsequent interviews, Logan spoke candidly that much of the media is liberally biased and that posed an imminent problem in terms of journalistic ethics and accuracy. She suggested that today’s news consumers are tasked with getting information from both sides when searching for facts.

Over the years, she earned a reputation for fearless reporting while embedded in troops in Afghanistan and Iraq during the War on Terror. She was also prone to going rogue and seeking out information in dangerous locales. She suffered an attack and sexual assault while reporting on the removal of then-Egyptian Pres. Hosni Mubarak and spent four days in the hospital recovering.

Following the Benghazi Attacks, a “60 Minutes” segment she pieced together differed from the FBI and Hillary Clinton State Department’s official version. She was forced to apologize when a source recanted parts of his story. But her candid remarks on the subject put her in the Clinton machine crosshairs.

“I made one comment about Benghazi,” Logan reportedly said. “I was targeted by Media Matters for America, which was an organization established by David Brock, who has dedicated himself to the Clintons. It was their known propaganda organization.”

When she didn’t back down and gave speeches that Secretary Clinton and the U.S. government failed to protect and defend those Americans abroad properly, CBS sided with Hillary Clinton and forced Logan to give the on air apology and then take a leave of absence for several months.

“From a CBS News standards perspective, there is a conflict in taking a public position on the government’s handling of Benghazi and Al-Qaeda, while continuing to report on the story,” the network reportedly stated.

In hindsight, it took years to learn the truth that the Clinton-led State Department covered up the facts and failure to send aid to the Americans who died during the terrorist attack. Obviously, CBS and its flagship show “60 Minutes” see no conflict in their current biased liberal reporting and matching personal opinions.

Although Logan’s work with CBS resumed after the Benghazi disagreement, her recent statements are an unforgivable sin that will most likely put her on a blacklist. When asked to provide examples about biased, distorted and fake news reporting, she used the coverage of President Donald Trump as an example.

“How do you know you’re being lied to? How do you know you’re being manipulated? How do you know there’s something not right with the coverage? When they simplify it all. There’s no grey. It’s all one way,” she said.

“Well, life isn’t like that. If it doesn’t match real life, it’s probably not. Something’s wrong. For example, all the coverage on Trump all the time is negative. That’s a distortion of the way things go in real life,” continued Logan.

She also called foul on the ongoing use of single and unnamed sources that have repeatedly been proven false.

“That’s not journalism, that’s horseshit,” Logan said. “Responsibility for fake news begins with us. We bear some responsibility for that, and we’re not taking ownership of that and addressing it. We just want to blame it all on somebody else.”

Logan’s blunt talk presents a unique problem for a biased media that continues to falsely claim its rank and file members are objective. Her biting critique of an industry that has gone off the rails blindsided insiders, and it will be difficult for them to paint her as merely disgruntled. She warned that today’s reporting presents an almost existential threat.

“So, creating one ideological position on everything throughout your universities, throughout academia, in school and college, in media, and everywhere else, that’s what concerns me,” Logan said.

“The problem is the weight of all these organizations on one side of the political spectrum. When you turn on your computer, or you walk past the TV, or you see a newspaper headline in the grocery store…If they’re all saying the same thing, the weight of that convinces you that it’s true. You don’t question it, because everyone is saying it.”

There’s little doubt that an acclaimed journalist such as Lara Logan has few professional options after taking the mainstream media to task. In no uncertain terms, she is detailing what everyday Americans already know. The fake news media is the enemy of the people.
