Well, that didn’t take long. As the establishment moves to try to completely destroy Donald Trump’s amazing legacy, they are also attempting to wrest control of the GOP away from pro-Trump forces. The Chair of the House Republican Conference – the despicable RINO Rep. Liz Cheney (RINO-WY) – is trying to usurp the House Minority Leader position from Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA). Cheney has never made her hatred of Donald Trump a secret. But now, she has abused her authority as the Republican Conference Chair by announcing that she’s voting to impeach President Trump.
Cheney blames the January 06, 2021 Capitol protests on President Trump. She says that President Trump “summoned” a “mob” and then “lit the flame of this attack.” What a drama queen!
Like almost all of the amazing Trump parades and rallies that happened throughout 2020, the January 06 rally was not organized by Donald Trump or the Trump campaign. It was organized by patriotic, everyday Americans who were disenfranchised and had their votes stolen from them in the 2020 election. When President Trump realized the huge size that the rally was going to be, he was kind enough to grace them with his attendance and spoke to them.
Trump “lit the flame of this attack?” No.
Mike Pence lit the flame of the protest when his courage was tested, and he failed to heed the call of history. When Pence has the opportunity and the authority to send electoral college votes back to the disputed states for an audit, his courage failed him. He betrayed the America First movement that had catapulted him to the vice presidency. Pence will wear the shame of that betrayal for the rest of human history.
Members of the rally were rightly infuriated. Nearly 2 million Americans took time off during the middle of the week and flew across the country to stand up for free and fair elections. They sacrificed time and treasure to stand up for their beliefs, only to have those beliefs trampled by globalists who refused to hear their petition for a redress of grievances. When Mike Pence collapsed in a puddle of fear, it was his cowardice that “lit the flame” that day.
But Liz Cheney blames President Trump and says she will vote to impeach him.
Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) immediately noted that it was a violation of the House Republican Conference rules to just jump out in public and attack the Party’s president in this way. Biggs and a handful of other House Republicans are now calling for Cheney to step down, declaring her unfit to hold the office. She represents neither the House Republicans nor the voters who put Donald Trump in office.
Not that Kevin McCarthy has been much better. But at least McCarthy came around on Trump domestic and foreign policy. McCarthy is instead offering a measure to censure President Trump for the Capitol protests. That’s tone-deaf and foolish.
Raise your hand if you think that Trump deserves to be censured for “inciting violence” at the rally. Yeah, that’s what I thought. No Trump voter believes that to be the case.
You really have to wonder where Members of Congress come up with ideas like this. They took a knee in solidarity with Black Lives Matter over the summer – but they’re going to crack down on Donald Trump and his supporters over a single, mostly peaceful protest?
This spat between Cheney and McCarthy has huge implications for America. If Liz Cheney somehow manages to wrest control of the House GOP away from Kevin McCarthy, it will be just as suicidal a move for the Republican Party as it will be when Mitch McConnell votes to impeach Donald Trump (which he is absolutely going to do unless someone talks some sense into him).
If Cheney finds herself in charge of the House GOP, she will do everything in her power to squash the MAGA movement in its infancy. The money that the House GOP throws at future congressional races will flow to establishment globalists, while Trump-style patriots will be starved for funds.
It’s bad enough that the 2020 election was stolen from the American people and the Georgia Senate races were likewise stolen through blatant fraud. But it will be even worse for us if the Democrat Party manages to snatch control of the GOP, through the help of their ally Liz Cheney.
