Congresswoman Ilhan Omar’s Troubled Past with Terrorists

The media loves the “fresh faces” of the Democratic Party. It’s scary. The big names of the freshman class are all extremists. They fully support policy that would literally destroy our country, and at least one of them knows that.

Her name is Representative Ilhan Omar, and when you learn more about her base and her past, you’ll see that she isn’t acting in ignorance. She might be the single greatest threat to our country today.

Who voted for her? You might have already wondered this. Who would vote for such an obviously radical anti-Semite? The answer makes a lot of sense. It’s also frightening. Omar represents Minnesota’s 5th Congressional District. It’s a section of Minneapolis that’s home to a Somali-American community roughly 100,000 in population.

The community is primarily populated by Somali refugees and the families they’ve started since coming to America. We’ll save the discussion on birthright citizenship for another day.

Being elected by refugees is questionable, but it isn’t necessarily bad on its own. The problem with Omar’s district is that it has an established history of producing actual terrorists. According to the FBI, “more men and boys from a Somali American community in Minneapolis have joined — or attempted to join — a foreign terrorist organization over the last 12 years than any other jurisdiction in the country.” That’s a pretty big statement, but it’s worse when we put it in context.

So far, 45 individuals have successfully joined al-Shabab and ISIS from this one community. Now, 45 out of 100,000 doesn’t sound so bad until you really think about it. First, that makes this the most dangerous community in the United States. Fewer than 45 out of 100,000 people are victims of terror attacks, much less join them. More importantly, the number who have attempted and failed to join terror groups from this district is much, much higher.

Most importantly, you have to consider conviction. For every terrorist in a community, there has to be a support structure that helped indoctrinate the individual. Usually, that support structure will number in the hundreds. It’s quite safe to assume that thousands of Omar’s supporters are active terrorist supporters and sympathizers.

If she were to do her job and represent her voters to the best of her ability, she would have to deliberately undermine American interests and promote radical Islamic terrorism. That’s the base that elected her.

A Long History of Hate

Still, it’s legal in our country to agree with terrorists as long as you don’t participate. Because of that, Omar can try to say that the terrorists in her district are an outlier, that they didn’t elect her, and that she doesn’t share their beliefs.

How can you tell if she’s lying? Well, you look at her history. She’s had a public voice for several years now.

In 2013, Omar did an interview. In that interview, she literally blamed the U.S. for al-Shabab attacks. According to her, it was our meddling that killed 70 people in Kenya, not the actual terrorists. In that same interview, she suggested that American scholars who investigate terrorist ideologies are clueless and that she holds much better insight into that mindset. It’s probably safe to believe her.

So far we just have words. As a state representative in Minnesota, Omar advocated for a group of convicted terrorists. Note the language: they were convicted, not alleged. In her letter to the judge responsible for their sentencing, she asked to have their prison time reduced because their violence wasn’t their fault. Instead, it was the fault of American society.

Are you seeing the theme yet? If you blame a society for the wrongdoings of individuals, you can eventually justify attacking the society. This is a classic mechanism used in terror recruitment.

Her Short Career as a National Politician

She hasn’t been on the national scene for long, so we don’t have a lot to analyze, but there’s still plenty to disturb you. The very first thing Omar did as an elected official was attack the separation of church and state (which is not very Democratic). She went after a ban on head coverings that was intended to remove religious prejudice from Congressional chambers. She won that fight.

That’s the extent of her successful legislation so far, but she’s loudly supporting a number of positions. For starters, she is a self-declared socialist. She wants a 90-percent tax on the wealthy, and it’s safe to suggest she holds these positions because she understands how much they’ll hurt our economy. If you’re elected to subvert American interests and promote Islamic terrorism, the best way to succeed is to attack our economic power.

She’s also fighting hard to try and abolish ICE and Homeland Security. You’ve probably heard plenty of progressives go after ICE. Attacking all of Homeland Security is Omar’s addition. You don’t have to guess why. Ironically, she’s holding this position after Homeland Security just thwarted one of the biggest terror plots in recent history. Perhaps she was disappointed by that (even though her name was explicitly on the hit list).

The last major position for Omar is with BDS. For those who aren’t familiar, BDS is a movement calling for international boycotts and sanctions against Israel. Omar tried to hide her feelings on this during the campaign, but as soon as her election was official, she publicly supported BDS. She’s an open anti-Semite — as required by her radicalized beliefs.

Let’s recap. Congresswoman Ilhan Omar was elected by a community of radicalized refugees. Statistically speaking, they are the hotbed of American terrorists, and their support for evil and hate cannot be overstated.

As a representative of these terrorists, she has tried to foster resentment for America, reduce punishments for convicted terrorists, undermine American security and borders, cripple our economy and isolate Israel from its best and sometimes only international ally. Was she elected by terrorists? Yes. Is she committed to representing their ideologies in our Congress? Yes.
