Democrats Apparently Have No Problem with Death Threats Against Trump and other Republicans

Over the past week, there has been a number of significant, viable threats to the President’s life, Senator Ted Cruz, and other Republican officials and it seems Democrats have no problem with it.

This past Monday, an envelope addressed to President Trump was intercepted before it reached the White House. The letter first thought to contain the deadly poison Ricin appears connected to two similar letters sent to the Pentagon. The contents of the letters turned out to be castor seeds. Ricin is made from the waste product of castor beans.

Just hours before security discovered the letter sent to President Trump, Defense Department Headquarters security found two ricin-filled envelopes addressed to Secretary of Defense James Mattis and Chief of Naval Operations Adm. John Richardson.

Later in the week, police searched the home of a Utah man suspected of sending an envelope of ricin to President Trump.

But the threats are not just aimed at President Trump. On Tuesday, two people were rushed to the hospital after being exposed to a white, powdery substance sent in the mail to Senator Ted Cruz’s campaign office. The Houston Fire Department later reported the white powder tested negative for hazardous substances.

Senator Cruz has been targeted before. During the Kavanaugh hearings, the Washington D.C. chapter of Antifa accosted Cruz and his family in a restaurant. Cruz was dining with his wife, Heidi, when the group surrounded their table chanting, “not safe” and “we believe survivors.” Cruz and his wife quickly left the restaurant with Antifa thugs following them.

Just hours after the Cruz incident, a representative of the Antifa group posted a comment saying, “No — you can’t eat in peace — your politics are an attack on all of us You’re votes are a death wish. Your votes are hate crimes.”

Smash Racism DC wrote, “Tonight Senator Ted Cruz arrived at Fiola, an upscale restaurant mere steps from the White House, to enjoy a hearty Italian dinner. He could have dined on a lavish four-course meal for only $145 while millions of Americans struggle to buy groceries. He might have sampled from the top shelf wine list as migrant children languish in cages.”

This was not some random attack by a left-wing loony looking for attention but rather a coordinated attempt at intimidation. A message from Smash Racism DC issued a warning:

“This is a message to Ted Cruz, Bret Kavanaugh, Donald Trump and the rest of the racist, sexist, transphobic, and homophobic right-wing scum: You are not safe. We will find you. We will expose you. We will take from you the peace you have taken from so many others.”

Republican senators report a sharp rise in threats of violence in the wake of the intense battle over Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. Senator Bob Corker (Rep.-TN) and other GOP members of the Senate met behind closed doors Tuesday so they could discuss how to handle threats to their offices, staffs, and families.

House Majority Whip Steve Scalise told Fox and Friends, “There’s no place for it. If somebody on the right was doing it, we’d be vocally denouncing it. They need to be denouncing it on the left.” Scalise (Rep. – LA) was critically wounded by gunfire at a congressional baseball game last June. Authorities later said the gunman was “fueled by rage against Republican legislators.”

Scalise pointed to Maxine Waters (Dem. – CA) as part of the problem. Last June she encouraged Americans to harass and confront the President and any member of his administration. He noted the unremitting attack on “good people” like Judge Kavanaugh had done nothing to ease the increasingly confrontational mindset of rank-and-file Democrats. Speaking separately on Fox Business he said:

“Leadership on the Democrats’ side needs to stand up and say this is wrong, no matter what your differences with the president or anybody else, you go and you solve them. We’re going to have an election in a few weeks, that’s how you resolve it. You don’t resort to violence.”

Scalise added that Democrats “need to be called out” by the mainstream media. He noted that the mainstream media would have called out Republicans immediately if they had acted like Antifa and a sitting congressperson have.

Representative Scalise is right in his call for the mainstream media and Democrat leaders to denounce these acts of violence. From what the American people have seen lately, that is not likely to come.
