Not only do Democrats want open borders that would allow criminals, human traffickers, child molesters and terrorists to invade the U.S., they now insist hard-working Americans pay for their new-found life of leisure.
Democrats in New York City, New York State, Connecticut, Vermont, along with two liberal California counties have filed civil lawsuits aimed at obstructing the Trump Administration from enforcing federal laws that prevent non-citizens from siphoning off taxpayer-funded welfare benefits.
The Trump Administration enhanced how the so-called “public charge rule” was being enforced to stop illegals and dependent green card holders and applicants from living off the labor of American workers. The rule was initially passed by both houses of Congress and signed into law when welfare consisted of almost entirely cash payouts.
During the Obama years, a distinction was made to give away non-cash welfare benefits despite the fact that Americans still footed the bill. President Donald Trump’s expanded enforcement takes effect Oct. 15 and is entirely in keeping with the intent of the law.
“This rule will cover, for USCIS, almost 400,000 people a year, whose applications to become legal permanent residents will include a meaningful analysis of whether they’re likely to become a public charge or not,” acting director of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Ken Cuccinelli reportedly said.
Democrats, however, are backing illegals and non-citizens over working Americans. In California, liberals employed a mangled logical in their attack on the president’s policy to stop this welfare scam loophole.
“This illegal rule is just another attempt to vilify immigrants,” San Francisco City Attorney Dennis Herrera reportedly said. “It makes it easier to unfairly target hard-working, lawful immigrants, while sowing fear and confusion in our communities.”
The statement is patently false on its surface because hard-working, gainfully-employed people legally in the U.S. would not need to siphon off welfare money. Only dependent and illegal immigrants are being ferreted out for the borderline criminal practice. In Santa Clara, California, Democrats all but admitted that illegals and dependent green card holders are bilking taxpayers.
“The Trump administration’s new rule is an unlawful, foolish attack on immigrant communities,” Santa Clara County Counsel James R. Williams reportedly said. “It will hurt all members of our communities by reducing access to critical health and safety-net services that create healthier communities for all of our residents.”
USCIS acting director Cuccinelli fired back at the faulty narrative by Democrats and the fake news media pointing out that “self-sufficiency” is a primary American value and goal. That has not been the case with green card applicants making phony statements about jobs waiting for them and illegals sneaking across the U.S. southern border under cover of night.
“It will also have the long-term benefit of protecting taxpayers by ensuring people who are immigrating to this country don’t become public burdens, that they can stand on their own two feet, as immigrants in years past have done,” Cuccinelli reportedly said. “It’s not only a recipe for their success, but for America’s success growing out of our immigration system.”
Democrat litigants are once again using the false narrative that the policy is entirely based on racism. Rather than present facts such as 63 percent of non-citizen households are on welfare, the lawsuits skip directly to racism as the driving force.
“The Trump administration’s thinly veiled efforts to only allow those who meet their narrow ethnic, racial and economic criteria to enter our nation is a clear violation of our laws and our values,” New York Attorney General Letitia James reportedly said.
The lawsuits base their “validity” on the travel ban that was deemed lawful by the U.S. Supreme Court. They also reference the closure of the DACA program that is making its way through courts.
The Trump Administration has won nearly every legal challenge raised by Democrats since taking office. Although the civil lawsuits filed by these liberal extremists are doomed to once again fail at the U.S. Supreme Court like so many others, the president may have already had the final say on the matter.
“I am tired of seeing our taxpayers paying for people to come into our country and immediately go on welfare and other things, so I think we’re doing it right,” Pres. Trump said. I couldn’t agree with you more Mr. President!
