Fake News Media Covers Up BLM Riots as the Cause of the COVID-19 Surge

The fake news media has been working overtime to try to convince Americans that the Black Lives Matter riots didn’t spread COVID-19 and for sure aren’t the reason we are seeing a mass spike in cases this week.

Directly contradicting CDC social distancing guidelines, mask use, and basic science, wide-ranging media outlets claim that thousands of people standing shoulder to shoulder, jammed into narrow streets are no danger. But if you get a beer at a local bar in Texas or Florida, people will die. The establishment media’s support of violent agitators is not just partisan politics, it’s an attempt to insult our intelligence.

Consider the following fake news headlines against the facts.

  • Parties — Not Protests — Are Causing Spikes in Coronavirus (NPR)
  • House GOP leader suggests without evidence that protests are driving up coronavirus cases (CNBC)
  • ‘No Evidence’ Black Lives Matter Protests Caused COVID-19 Spike: Study (Newsweek)
  • Early Data Show No Uptick in Covid-19 Transmission From Protests (Wall Street Journal)
  • Black Lives Matter protests have not led to a spike in coronavirus cases, research says (CNN)

It would be something of an understatement to say that these and other media outlets have disgraced themselves through dishonest reporting. These same sources routinely refer to science when it suits their narrative but refuse to face facts about how COVID-19 spreads.

Since George Floyd died in police custody on May 25, massive protests, riots, and looting have plagued major cities night after night. Not only have the mainstream and fake news media lied about the risk, but many have also urged them on.

The BBC ran an article under the headline: “George Floyd death: Why US protests are so powerful this time.” The piece highlights phrases such as “It was the last straw,” referring to Floyd’s death captured on video. Rather than objective journalism, the “report” pivots to cheer on protestors. The U.K. has also been stung by mass protests that will inevitably spread the virus and kill elderly and vulnerable citizens.

In the U.S., Democrat politicians have supported irresponsible gatherings and participated. Hoping to garner enough far-left votes and remain in office, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer shrugged off her own Draconian lockdown rules and walked shoulder to shoulder with protestors for a photo-op. In Seattle, liberal extremists Mayor Jenny Durkan allowed armed domestic terrorists from Antifa to seize control and hold four city blocks. Teenagers were murdered and the terrorists held police off at gunpoint, refusing to let them respond to wounded youths. Calling the caliphate a “block party,” citizens were exposed to COVID-19. However, they feared assault, rape, robbery, and being shot more than the virus.

But for all the false propaganda that massive riots won’t spread the virus, data has already begun to emerge that the Black Lives Matter protests have created a surge. In Minnesota, where the riots first started, a spike among people in their 20s has already been recorded. By the end of June, a record high of 51 percent of 20-somethings tested positive. Across the country the median age of the newly infected has dropped. In Florida and Minnesota is dropped from 65 in March to 36 last week, researchers announced.

Media outlets are desperately trying to claim the rise among younger people can be attributed to drinking at local bars and contact tracers are being instructed not to ask about protest participation for fear of attributing the spread to the riots.

Science has become an inconvenient truth that does not support the fake news media’s narrative. Common sense, however, dictates that the recent 30,000-strong protest in Los Angeles will spread the disease and take the lives of our community members.
