Google, Facebook Hold Secret Meeting to Expand Censorship Program

The war of censorship against conservatives has been building up for years. But came to a head in the months surrounding the 2016 election and the pimple popped when Alex Jones was summarily shut down by 13 different social media platforms in a 12 hour period.

The coming fallout over that spectacular misstep was clear before it happened. Social media companies are intentionally shooting themselves in the foot. They are doing this knowing very well that it will cause them to hemorrhage trust and users. The criticism from media experts has been clear. The social media tech firms are not acting in their own best interest. The Alex Jones show alone brought YouTube millions of dollars every month in advertising revenue.

So why would they cut off their own hands just to punish a demonstrably unhinged news commentary show? Because they are being manipulated by government agencies that subsidize them. That is also the reason why they are about to crack down even harder on conservative voices on social media platforms.

Last week, reps from all of the major Internet media companies including Facebook, Google, Microsoft and Twitter got together to talk about their 2018 midterm election strategy. Now, why the hell would media companies like these have an election strategy at all?

A news agency, for contrast, is only supposed to report on facts. So why would a group of organizations whose stated purpose is only to provide a digital public forum for people to share ideas (and for companies to advertise to them while they’re there), have an election strategy- let alone a collective one?

The answer is that they are getting ready to double down on their already proven commitment to censoring conservative voices. Not only that, but to do it in lock-step, jack-booted lockstep.

How do we know this? Because the stated purpose of the meeting is to stem the tide of “fake news,” the same old propaganda term that was turned on the left wingers so handily last election.

Today in the news, pundits on CNN are wringing their hands trying to explain how Donald Trump can still have such a high level of support from his base. Not only is Trump’s support base still solid as ever- but it is growing. And the fastest sector of society where Trump’s influence is growing is the black community. That vexes the left more than anything else.

Current projections have Trump support among blacks approaching the 40% mark, and the trend is expected to continue. The reason for this is simple. Trump’s economy is creating jobs. This has Democrats panicking. Without the ability to buy votes with promises of welfare, they have nothing to offer. Black support for a Republican president has never been this high and the Dems are absolutely desperate.

But the desperation of the Democrats by itself does not explain why Silicon Valley would support the liberal agenda much to the detriment of their own bottom line. The tech heads behind Faceblock and Goggle are intensely liberal, of course. But that is not enough to explain why they would destroy their own business model in order to promote Democrat control in Washington DC.

The tech giants are maintaining the line that their censorship of misinformation is equally distributed. We know that is not the case, and their wellbeing depends on people believing that lie. But this story gets even more sinister.

Facebook has instituted a new social credit ranking system which is designed to assign users a credibility rating based on their posting history. This is based directly on the social credit rating system created by the Chinese government to punish and de-person people who do not tow the party line. Those who espouse anti-government views or broach controversial issues lose their standing. In China, people lose access to their money, and the ability to earn or trade. Naturally, it also leads to prison.

On Facebook, the ratings trigger algorithms to make posts from the low ranking user less visible to others. The rating is based on how closely the user adheres to mainstream views. In other words, if you believe everything you see on CNN- you’ll be in good standing on Facebook.

The meeting last Friday was largely about how to implement this system on a broader scale letting other platforms in on the fun. But don’t think this is just about access to an audience on social media. People are also losing their access to payment processors like Visa, Mastercard, and Paypal.
