Several wise folks have noted in recent years that when the politicians in DC start arresting each other, it’s time to head for the hills. We’re not quite there yet, but sadly, we’re getting closer as the American left becomes more rabid in their quest for power over everyone else. The persecution of the McCloskey family in St. Louis is an example of how power-mad leftists are pushing us closer to their imagined socialist utopia. The Soros-backed St. Louis prosecutor who wants to indict the McCloskeys is not backing down.
Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner is one of dozens of leftwing prosecutors who were installed in their jobs in recent years by George Soros. Gardner and her ideological clones are on the news every day. They’re the same prosecutors calling for defunding the police and introducing disastrous local policies like the elimination of cash bail and immediately turning dangerous suspects loose after they’re arrested. Soros pumped millions of dollars into Kim Gardner’s election campaign, and all the other soft-on-crime prosecutors we’ve been hearing about since 2016.
He’s doing it this year, too. Soros has pledged some $220 million to local prosecutors’ races across the country. It’s a strategy that is working. The destruction of law and order in our cities is unraveling the country faster and more effectively than a war or an economic recession could.
After a Black Lives Matter mob smashed through the gate on the McCloskeys’ property and threatened to murder them, Mark McCloskey and his wife had to scare off the mob all alone, using nothing but an AR-15 and Mrs. McCloskey’s cute little automatic pistol. The McCloskeys were the victims in this story – but Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner is treating them as the villains.
She had the cops carry out a search warrant at the McCloskeys’ home and took their guns away. The mobs keep coming back and threatening them, but now Gardner has stripped them of their Second Amendment rights. The McCloskeys are having to pay for armed security out of their own pocket, because the coward “Republican” Governor of Missouri is hiding under this desk. There should be a State Trooper detail protecting their home right now, but Gov. Mike Parson is too much of a spineless moral coward to do his job. Someone might call him a racist if he pushes back against Black Lives Matter!
Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) has fortunately stepped forward to speak out in defense of the McCloskeys. Hawley doesn’t have the authority to do much, being a US Senator, but at least he has sent a request to the Department of Justice. He’s calling for civil rights investigation of Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner’s office.
Hawley correctly notes in his letter to the DOJ:
“The only possible motivation for the investigation… is a politically motivated attempt to punish this family for exercising their Second Amendment rights.”
The McCloskeys did absolutely nothing wrong. Their property was invaded by an angry mob. That mob threatened to kill them. The police basically told them, “We can’t get there, you’re on your own.” They used their constitutionally protected firearms to shoo the mob away. And as a result, no one was hurt.
Gardner’s reaction to Sen. Hawley’s letter is very telling. She announced on Twitter:
“Baseless. Our office will continue to investigate this matter, and will not be bullied by a sitting US Senator or anyone else.”
Yeah. Kim Gardner is the one being bullied in this situation.
It remains to be seen whether Attorney General Bill Barr will do the right thing in this situation and have the FBI raid Kim Gardner’s office in a civil rights investigation. But one thing we do know for certain is that the McCloskeys are about to be indicted by Kim Gardner’s office.
Do we want to live in a country like this? Are we okay with George Soros using his money to install his hand-picked robots as prosecutors who won’t enforce the law against criminals, but will use the law against everyday people exercising their constitutional rights? Let’s hope everyone does their research before voting this November and sends these Soros lackeys packing.
Meanwhile, it doesn’t feel like we’re that far away from the politicians in DC beginning to have each other arrested. Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) says Democrats will continue looking for ways to have President Trump and his supporters arrested – even if Trump loses the election. We should believe them when they make admissions like this. They really do plan to lock us up if they gain power.
