Iran Admits They Enabled 9/11 Attackers

Mohammad-Javad Larijani, a prominent Iranian politician, and former diplomat admitted on a Farsi language broadcast confirmed allegations made in a 9/11 Commission report. Larijani acknowledged that Iran knowingly enabled passage of al-Qaeda members who later carried out the terrorist attack of September 11, 2001.

Larijani is a member of a politically influential Iranian family and serves as an international affairs assistant in the Iranian judiciary. He is also secretary of the judiciary’s so-called High Council for Human Rights which has been accused by international human rights organizations of violations and cover-ups.

According to an Al Arabiya report, Larijani made his comments during an interview aired on May 30 on Iranian state TV. This marks the first time a senior Iranian official has publicly admitted that Iran played a direct role in facilitating the 9/11 attacks.

When President Bush’s advisors claimed Iran sheltered senior al Qaeda figures, they were met with the prevailing myth that Sunni and Shiite Muslims are such deep-seated enemies that Iran and Saudi Arabia could never have worked together. It’s true that Shia and Sunni will gladly slaughter one another but they have more in common with each other than us.

The 9/11 Commission contended in 2006 that there was sufficient evidence to prove that at least some of the al-Qaeda hijackers traveled through Iran “on their way to or from Afghanistan, taking advantage of the Iranian practice of not stamping Saudi passports.” It concluded, “We believe this topic requires further investigation by the U.S. government.”

Larijani confirmed that one of the pilots responsible for carrying out the attacks of 9/11 and a Hezbollah military leader sat beside each other on the plane without having their passports stamped before leaving Iran.

Robert Haefele of Motley Rice LLC, an attorney who represented the plaintiffs in a lawsuit against Iran confirms that a New York federal court in December 2011 found that “the evidence presented established that Iran’s provision of material support to al-Qaeda was a cause of the 9/11 attacks and the resulting damage, injuries, and deaths.”

Irrefutable evidence of Iran’s link with the terrorist attack of 9/11 was found when American troops seized a treasure trove of documents and Osama bin Laden was killed in 2011 in Pakistan. Those 470,000 documents were published by the CIA last November. Among them are 19 that specifically show prominent ties with Iran.

Thomas Joscelyn and Bill Roggio in their analysis done for the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, one letter showed that a prominent al-Qaeda member confirmed Iran was willing to provide “everything that the group needs, whether arms, money and training camps for Hezbollah in Lebanon, in exchange of attacking American interests in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf.”

Most prominent among those named in the documents is Saif al-Adel who later became the al-Qaeda’s No. 3. Saif al-Adel was trained by Iranian commanders in Iran and Lebanon and Iran. He gave the orders from his headquarters in Iran to carry out the Riyadh explosions of 2003.

Among the 113 letters in Bin Laden’s handwriting were specific directions as to how al-Qaeda should deal with Iran. Bin Laden said that Iran is a key player for the al-Qaeda “movement” and knows their secrets. He directed his followers to not form battle fronts against Iran, confirming the ties between al-Qaeda and the Iranian regime.

A GOP-led Senate report alleged the Obama administration tried to “help Iranian government officials skirt US financial sanctions to help them retrieve almost $6 billion from an Omani bank” and Obama lied about doing it.

Despite a pledge to Congress and the public in February 2016 the Obama administration assisted Tehran in recovering $5.7 billion held in the Bank Muscat in the Persian Gulf state of Oman. According to the Senate’s Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, administration officials “continued to mislead Congress after the license was issued.”

By removing the sanctions on Iran under the nuclear deal, President Obama and his cohorts enabled the same regime that knowingly facilitated the attacks on America on September 11, 2001.

Along with this last piece of evidence from an Iranian official, remember it was the same Obama administration that sent $400 million in cash in the dark of the night to Iran after signing a nuclear deal using the release of four American prisoners as its pretext.

One has to wonder what our last president’s definition of treason is.
