Media Grappling with Joe Biden Grappling Allegations

Good news! The mainstream media has finally received its talking points for how to cover the very specific and detailed sexual assault allegations against Joe Biden. Man, that took a long time. The media has spent weeks completely ignoring Tara Reade’s accusation that Biden violated her in the hallways of the US Senate when she worked for him back in the 1990s.

Take a gander at how every single media outlet is suddenly reporting on this in lockstep, almost as if they were told what to report:

Jake Tapper, CNN: “Democrats grapple with questions about Tara Reade’s sexual assault allegation against Joe Biden.”

Note that this is a story about Democrats, and not the central question of the issue.

Politico: “The #MeToo movement is facing a new challenge: how to grapple with the allegations against Joe Biden without tearing itself apart.”

Nice! Politico managed to spin that without even using the term “sexual assault” when referring to what the allegations are!

Jeremy Scahill, The Intercept: “My aim in writing this piece was to put into words what many principled people are grappling with right now, not to tell anyone what to do.”

Uh huh. In that quote, Scahill is referencing an article that he wrote about the Joe Biden sexual assault allegations. Scahill titled his article, “The Moral Calculus of Voting for Biden to Beat Trump,” so readers would be sure to know that it’s about the Joe Biden sexual assault allegations.

Lisa Lerer, Mother Jones: “Sexual Assault Advocates Are Grappling with the Allegations Against Joe Biden.”

Once again, we have vague “allegations against Joe Biden,” but the central issue of the story is that sexual assault advocates are the ones dealing with some sort of problem.

By the way, when was the last time that you used the term “grapple” or “grappling” in a sentence?

CNN, Politico, The Intercept and Mother Jones are four separate media outlets, owned by different companies. And yet “independent” “journalists” at all four outlets started using the exact same “grappling” term in their stories on the exact same day. By the time you read this, more media outlets will no doubt be alerting their readers and viewers that someone is grappling with some vague issue about Joe Biden. It’s like during the 2000 presidential race when every single media outlet started telling us about Al Gore’s “gravitas” on the same day.

The mainstream media (MSM) must think we’re all incredibly stupid and that we won’t notice when every separate outlet starts using the exact same not-so-common word on the same day. Having spent a lot of years in radio and TV news myself, I can tell you this is no accident. Every day, the Democrat Party sends a one-sheet fax out to every news organization with its spin on the news of the day. It’s literally called “The Talking Points Memo.”

That’s why Bill O’Reilly hilariously named the opening of his show the “Talking Points Memo” on Fox News for years while he was there. He was jabbing their own term right back at them.

Of course, we know that the MSM’s coziness with the Democrat Party is even closer than that in many cases. A ton of MSM types are married to Democrat Party political consultants, Members of Congress or DNC employees. Too many to count. They all hang out together and when the Democrat Party or a Dem presidential nominee’s campaign comes to an agreement on how to cover a story and it’s been sufficiently focus-grouped to death, they all get the watered-down, vague message at the same time.

That’s how terms like “grapple” or “gravitas” end up on every news station or website in unison.

Hey! Do you know someone who hasn’t had to grapple with any questions about Tara Reade’s sexual assault allegations against Joe Biden?

Joe Biden!

Everyone in America has known about Tara Reade’s allegations for months. But the mainstream media has steadfastly ignored the accusations, because they knew there was a very good chance that Biden would be the nominee to run against Donald Trump. During the Brett Kavanaugh confirmation hearings in the US Senate, CNN published a whopping 700 stories about Christine Blasey Ford’s vague, unsubstantiated allegations, despite there not being any proof to back up her ridiculous story.

Jake Tapper’s headline about how Democrats are “grappling” with the Biden allegations is only the second time that CNN has mentioned Tara Reade’s allegations, which are very specific and disturbing, and which she actually told other people about at the time when it happened.

Here’s a suggestion. If the media wanted to reestablish any of its credibility with the American people (which it obviously doesn’t), maybe it should ask Joe Biden whether he grappled Tara Reade’s private parts in a Senate hallway. But Biden is a Democrat and he’s locked safely away in the basement for now, so the media won’t do that.
