MSNBC Panel Thinks Kamala Harris Needs a “Strong Black Man” to Win 2020 Presidential Election

Right now, United States Senator Kamala Harris, Democrat – CA, is one of the leading candidates to potentially take on Donald J. Trump in the 2020 presidential contest. And, why wouldn’t she be? The daughter of an Indian mother and a Jamaican father, Harris is a minority. She’s also a woman. The Senator seems to embody what the Democratic Party is all about, diversity.

However, Harris has one MAJOR stain on her resume. In 2014, she married lawyer Douglas Emhoff. Emhoff is a white man. For Democrats, older white men are seemingly enemy number one. The liberals have spun the imaginative narrative that aging white men have reaped the benefits of white privilege all of their lives. So, due to her intimate association with a white man, left-wing pundits are worried Harris will struggle to earn the black male vote.

On a recent broadcast of the MSNBC show “AM Joy,” host Joy Reid and a panel conversed about Harris’ chances in the 2020 presidential race. Tiffany Cross, of “The Beat DC,” proclaimed that the California Senator needs “to find a strong, black man” to assist with her campaign according to TheBlaze.

Cross stated, “The African-American community expects more from people who look like us, particularly a candidate who represents us. She needs to find a strong, black man advocate who can be in her corner at some point in the campaign — at any space in her campaign, I would say, that’s my key advice: find a prominent blue-collar, self-made, black man to be in your corner.”

Jason Johnson, an MSNBC analyst, appeared to completely concur with Cross’s outlandish notion. He remarked, “Let’s just be candid. When you’re saying she needs to have an advocate out there, it’s not going to be her [white] husband. She needs to surround herself with African-American men.”

If Harris listens to Cross and Johnson, she might not be spending much time with her husband for the next several months. For her part, she is valiantly pushing policies that should appeal to the coveted black demographic. Despite the fact that scores of Americans are happy with their employer provided health insurance, Harris wants to force everyone to obtain Medicare. She, along with other Democratic presidential candidates, also supports the idea of reparations for black Americans.

According to Fox News, Harris, United States Senator Elizabeth Warren, Democrat – Massachusetts, and Julian Castro, United States Secretary of Housing and Urban Development under President Barack Obama, are on record affirming reparations. In a recent interview on the hit radio program “The Breakfast Club,” Harris maintained that reparations were needed to deal with the legacies of discrimination and slavery.

The California Senator stated to the New York Times, “We have to be honest that people in this country do not start from the same place or have access to the same opportunities. I’m serious about taking an approach that would change policies and structures and make real investments in black communities.”

Warren also explained her stance on reparations to the left-leaning New York Times. She argued, “We must confront the dark history of slavery and government-sanctioned discrimination in this country that has had many consequences, including undermining the ability of black families to build wealth in America for generations. We need systemic, structural changes to address that.”

Reparations would entail the federal government admitting the lasting legacy of discrimination and slavery and offering money to affected individuals. According to Fox News, policy experts claim reparations could cost the United States trillions of dollars.

Besides adding to the already insane national debt, reparations for black people aren’t practical. The National Review reported, “Paying reparations for slavery is a terrible idea because there is no one to pay reparations and no one to pay them to. There are not any slave-owners left among us and haven’t been for some time. There aren’t any liberated slaves, either.”

The conservative media outlet went on to contend, “Our progressive friends like to talk about their high regard for ‘diversity,’ but they are blind to the real thing: Neither the white population of the United States nor the black one is homogenous; relatively few living white Americans are the heirs, however distant, of slave owners, and a significant and growing population of black Americans has no link to antebellum slavery at all.”

The 2020 Democratic presidential hopefuls will likely continue to focus on policies that would benefit only specific racial subsets of the country’s population. Instead, they should be fighting to help all Americans prosper. If working class whites and other demographics feel belittled, marginalized, and ignored, they will do what they did in 2016. And, Trump will have another four years to help “Make America Great Again.”
