New Goal: Make Dan Crenshaw Speaker of the House

Dan Crenshaw may or may not be a name you recognize. He’s new to politics, having won his first election this past November. What really made people aware of him though was an SNL skit that attacked his appearance.

For those who don’t remember, the “comedians” of SNL tried to imply that Crenshaw’s eye patch made him some kind of villain. In reality, he wears that patch because he lost his right eye while fighting for our country as a Navy Seal.

Since the skit thrust Crenshaw into the spotlight, he’s shown himself to be very knowledgeable, friendly and willing to debate any liberal talking point. He’s avoided the pettiness and mudslinging that seems to dominate the swamp of Washington, and he’s on course to be one of the next great leaders of our country.

The Fresh New Face

Mainstream media is still openly fawning over the new Democratic freshmen in Congress. They cover for rampant anti-Semitism. They excuse the destructive socialism of AOC’s new deal of greenness, or whatever, and they avoid holding any of these people accountable for anything they say or do.

At the same time, they’re avoiding Dan Crenshaw with everything they have. They instantly recognized that the most dangerous thing they can do is broadcast this man’s speech and ideals to the world. He is the exact opposite of the Democratic freshmen. He’s poised. He’s well spoken. He thinks before he reacts, and all of his policy is rooted in facts, reason and morality.

He’s also completely free of controversy. As Republicans, we tend to accept the imperfect humanity of our politicians for the sake of good policy. With Crenshaw, we might have to do that a little less. He walks the walk.

Winning Policy

One of the most important aspects of Representative Crenshaw is how he sticks to issues. He doesn’t get sidetracked by the media circuses.

Do you remember when a dancing video leaked of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez? The media tried to use it to accuse Republicans of being too stuffy. None of that landed with Crenshaw. He swiftly dismantled the entire argument in one deft tweet, “Dancing’s great, but ideas matter more.” He sidestepped the distraction and cut right back to the real issues.

This is the core of his political presence. He’s rooted in inarguable policy. Instead of arguing about the morality of a wall (which is a stupid sentiment), he points out how much illegal immigration hurts the immigrants themselves. Human trafficking is a major problem, and reducing illegal immigration is the best way to fight it.

When Dianne Feinstein tried to say the wall is stupid because less than half of illegal immigrants overstay visas, he cut the argument in half, “Why are you arguing with a point that no one is making? This border security plan is about the nearly 400,000 illegal aliens apprehended crossing the border last year.”

There was no refutation from Feinstein. This is who Crenshaw is as a politician, and it’s downright exciting. For years, we’ve wanted a Republican leader who could get in the ring with the Democrats without being covered in their muck. This is the guy.

A True Leader

There are so many reasons to support Representative Crenshaw, but his integrity tops the list. As a wounded war vet, he could play the victim card against the Democrats time and again. He doesn’t, and his refusal to treat politics like a leftist is what makes him so untouchable. When you force liberals to confront the issues with facts, they always lose. Crenshaw doesn’t just succeed in doing this. He does it while leaving his most devastating emotional weapons behind because he believes it’s wrong.

It’s hard to fully convey why Dan Crenshaw is so important to modern politics. He is a young conservative who won a seat with a grassroots campaign. It’s a perfect mirror to the Democrats who are being heralded as the future, but he made it without the media stooging and the incessant string of stupid comments. He’s a real leader with real experience that can bring a real future back to America.

Our goal shouldn’t just be to get President Trump re-elected in 2020. We need to retake the House, and when we do, we need to demand leadership from people like Dan Crenshaw. He may be young, but he’s already proven he has the poise and wisdom to make a great Speaker of the House. He’d certainly be a far cry better than Nancy Pelosi.
