The Commission on Presidential Debates has chosen a moderator for the next debate between Joe Biden and President Trump in Miami. The good news is that it is not “reporter” and former Bill Clinton staffer George Stephanopoulos. The bad news is that it is someone worse.
It’s none other than former Joe Biden intern and Ted Kennedy (D-MA) fan Steve Scully.
Scully’s anti-Trump bias is not as well-known as Stephanopoulos’, that’s probably why he was chosen to be the next moderator. Scully tweeted an anti-Trump column during the President’s first campaign back in 2016. Its title was “No, Not Trump, Not Ever.” This guy was chosen by a so-called nonpartisan commission.
So, the person, who is supposed to make sure the debate is fair, tweeted this quote from a New York Times opinion piece:
“Donald Trump is epically unprepared to be president. He has no realistic policies, no advisers, no capacity to learn.”
While the President has indicated that he is ready for the October 15 debate, it is not certain whether Joe Biden will try to avoid another stressful confrontation with President Trump. Steve Scully will surely want to shield his old mentor against another defeat. The optics of a fully recovered President Trump again causing Joe to lose his cool won’t be a pretty sight, and Scully will do everything in his power to prop up yet another loser in his long history of backing losers.
Said Scully, “I worked for Senator Kennedy. I was involved in his ill-fated campaign in 1980, which was interesting; having worked as a high school student in the Carter campaign in 1976, I saw from two different perspectives. I always knew I wanted to come back to Washington.”
Scully’s perspective is that he is a card-carrying member of the Orange Man Bad resistance. The piece he tweeted highlights Scully and the liberal deep-state press’s true feelings about the President: “He insults the office Abraham Lincoln once occupied by running for it with less preparation than most of us would undertake to buy a sofa.”
(As things turned out, President Trump did more for Black Americans than Abe Lincoln. And don’t forget Honest Abe was a Republican.)
So, should we expect another three-way debate where President Trump will have to outdo Joe Biden and the Steve Scully, much like he did with Fox News’ Chris Wallace a week ago. While he’s coping with Biden’s charges of genocide and incompetence, we can expect Scully to toss hardballs to the President and soft balls to his old boss Biden.
Will our Democrat moderator ask Joe to explain his racist comment about the Black woman who stacked groceries so everyone could survive during the quarantine? Probably not.
No doubt Joe will lose his temper again as President Trump pushes the Hunter button. He has already apologized for calling the President a clown. Another question is whether never-Trumper Scully can hold onto his famous fake C-SPAN calm demeanor as President Trump calls him out as the latest example of unabashed and open media bias.
Next up, however, is the vice-presidential debate, which could be especially important if Joe Biden choses to hide in his basement. The moderator will be Susan Page, who, it appears hasn’t worked for either Michelle Obama or Hillary Clinton. She is, however, the Washington, DC bureau chief for USA Today.
Maybe we’ll see a modicum of fairness, and Page will actually ask Kamala to defend her terrible record as California’s Attorney General and Willy Brown’s main squeeze— but we’re not holding our breath.
Why are the Republicans agreeing to these biased moderators. Chris Wallace is a known Trump hater, and now you say the next moderator is even worse. Why is President Trump agreeing to these debates if the moderators are so against him? If the Republican party is so stupid to agree to these moderators then they are throwing the President under the bus, and guaranteeing a bad debate outcome. Why should the President have to fight Biden, and the moderator.

It doesn’t really matter who the moderator is. President Trump has his record of success and the truth on his side, but he needs to be more articulate. He has all of the ammunition he needs to repel the lies, distortions and exaggerations these people will throw at him, and come out on top. But he has to keep his cool and be better prepared than he was in the first “debate.”

These are not debates to start with. The one last night was a joke, a bad joke. She should have asked a question, give them 2 minutes to answer, then give them both one minute to respond. She should have given both the same amount of time to answer the same question and the same time to respond to the other persons reply. That’s a debate. She asked different questions to each one. How can that be a debate.
Trump needs to tell them where to put their so-called debates. The only reason Biden agreed to the debates is he knew the moderator would be on his side.
