Obama Antagonizes Russia over Partisan Politics

Hillary Clinton’s candidacy for the office of the president represented the vanguard for globalism; border-less countries, unchecked immigration, legally enforceable political correctness, the evisceration of the middle class and more. Barack Obama is no different, and Hillary’s defeat was a defeat for him as well.

Now, Donald Trump, who represents Middle America, the working classes, everything globalism threatens- who wants to make this country economically strong and productive- is preparing to take office. To Democrats, who have been working hard to sell out American interests, to export jobs, to devalue hard working ordinary people this is a great insult.

The left has responded to Trump’s victory not with self-reflection, not by examining their tactics, but by doubling down on the venomous and underhanded way they have grown accustomed to operating. To understand why they behave this way, you only have to read the handbook for modern liberal politics; Saul Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicals.”

Among the ‘rules’ are such admonishments as; “Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon,” … “If you push a negative hard enough, it will push through and become a positive,” … “Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules,” and “Keep the pressure on. Never let up.”

To understand the petty extremism of the left, you have to understand Alinsky’s book- which can be distilled down to this: “Admit nothing, deny everything, and make counter-accusations.” This is why in debate, they always resort to name calling. If you disagree with them, they assume you must be a racist, a sexist, or some other kind of bigot. This is the mental illness of believing one has a corner on morality.

Following this basic premise, it is easy to see why Barack Obama believes the dangerous and spiteful actions that he has taken regarding his stance with Russia might be a good way to secure his legacy and gain the respect, of international leaders and powers (he isn’t).

The outgoing president has done everything in his power to destabilize relations between Russia and the U.S. The steps toward good relations that have been accomplished through the limited communications between President-Elect Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, have been a momentous achievement. For the first time, perhaps, since WWII, our nation has a chance to view Russia as a friend.

But Barack Obama does not see this as progress. He sees it as a deepening of his party’s defeat in the election. He views it as making him look even weaker on foreign relations than he does already. He is making it clear that he and his political allies will do whatever it takes to spoil any progress made by the referendum movement, even if it places the country at risk of a nuclear war.

In recent weeks, Obama has supported unsubstantiated claims that Russia hacked into DNC computers in order to effect the outcome of the election. He has called for stiff penalties to be imposed for what is yet, only a series of accusations of Russian hacking. In a fit of temper, he ejected Russian diplomats from the U.S. He has supported the amassing of United Nations forces around the Russian border, and he has taken an openly hostile attitude toward Vladimir Putin.

While these actions may well be considered unnecessarily hostile, placing the U.S. and its people in danger- chances are, it will only make Obama and his party appear weaker and more ineffectual than they already are.

While the world looks on in horror at the dangerous and petulant actions of the outgoing American president, it is nearly universally agreed that they will not have a meaningful effect on the future of U.S./Russian relations.

Putin himself has expressed amusement at what he calls ‘Obama’s kitchen diplomacy,’ … a Russian saying which implies weakness and pettiness. The Russian president laughingly refused to respond in kind to Obama’s unfriendly gestures. He has said he will allow American diplomats to remain in Russia, that he will not hold the American people- or the incoming American president to account for Obama’s childish behavior.

Indeed, it is only the Democratic Party and the mainstream news media who are reacting to Obama’s actions in the way Obama expects. They are telling us Russia is a rogue state that must be punished. The democrats are baring their teeth and champing at the bit for war with Russia.

But while they poison the well, Trump, Russia, and the American people calmly and patiently wait for our new president to take office and resume making progress with our new ally.
