Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is an idiot. Don’t allow anyone to lie about it. Since she won her primary, she has been on a veritable media tour of failure. She has embarrassed herself and her voters at every opportunity. But, perhaps her worst gaffe yet was on a Twitter post this past week.
It was worse than admitting she doesn’t know the basics of the Israel-Palestine conflict. It put to shame her open endorsement of failed socialist policy. In the tweet, she actually had the audacity to claim that Democrats are better than the Republicans on issues of fighting for working-class Americans, crime, equal rights, national security, racism, moral courage and family values.
Scoffing is not a strong enough reaction. We could spend days refuting the range of stupidity in this tweet, but for the sake of brevity, we’ll focus on the three that are the very most wrong.
Working Class Americans
Oh, is that why working-class America elected Trump? They’re definitely the group that flipped key swing states like Pennsylvania, Ohio and Florida in his favor. It’s because the Democrats are clearly the better party for this disenfranchised group, right?
Let’s not beat around the bush here. Trump’s entire agenda is built around the working class. His tax policy, trade deals, international security and border plan are all devoted to making life better for the working and middle class.
The tax plan alone proves that. It directly put more money in the pocket of every working-class family in the country. If that wasn’t enough, it spurned massive growth. Hiring has expanded, wages have grown and people who have been out of work since the 2008 crash are finally seeing hope again. That’s the party of the working class.
How have Democrats responded? They want to roll back the tax plan, raise taxes even further and revisit Obama’s promise that manufacturing jobs could never return — even though Trump has brought them back by the tens of thousands.
National Security
It’s hard to respond to this with anything other than laughter. The Democrats just spend eight years completely dismantling national security. Let’s go over Obama’s highlights. He secured a deal with Iran, the most belligerent and terrorist-invested country in the world, that guarantee their rights to possess nuclear material and pursue ballistic missiles. Then, he gave them billions of dollars.
He also started four separate wars that all did nothing to further our own interests. In the meantime, he let Russia walk all over Europe and the Middle East, and he helped ISIS graduate from their “JV” status to being the most dangerous terrorist organization on the planet.
Trump quelled ISIS in less than a year. He brought Russia back in check. He froze money flowing into Iran so that even if Obama’s deal supports their rights to nuclear weapons they at least will struggle to afford developing them. He has opened genuine peace talks with North Korea for the first time in history, and he has reduced our commitment to wars that don’t serve our interest. In every way measurable Trump has mopped the floor with Obama on national security. Ocasio-Cortez’s comment doesn’t even merit status as a sick joke.
Family Values
It was legitimately hard to choose between family values and moral courage here, but since Democrats have such a twisted sense of morality, this seemed the better route for today. Ocasio-Cortez claims that Democrats are better than Republicans on family values. She says this of her part — the party of abortion, single-parent homes and a complete abandonment of sexual responsibility. Since the 60s, Democratic policy has split up millions of American homes and murdered tens of millions of babies.
If that wasn’t enough, this is also the party that has openly and repeatedly declared their desire to destroy the notion of the American family. Not even sick liberal logic can justify this level of stupidity.
If Ocasio-Cortez actually believes even a fraction of this tweet, then her level of stupidity is actively dangerous for our country. She is looking very good to win a seat in Congress, and she has repeatedly shown that she doesn’t understand the most basic concepts of anything. At this point, we have to wonder if she even spelled her name write on her ticket.
And yet, this is who the Democrats are heralding as the future of their party. Even Trump Derangement Syndrome might not be enough to explain this one. They are embracing outright idiocy without pretense or excuses. Can we kick them out of Congress yet?
