Everyday Americans are roundly optimistic about the incredible resurgence in the economy. Record-setting employment, a thriving GDP, all-time high stock market numbers, and rising wages demonstrate Pres. Donald J. Trump’s America First agenda is working.
But on the other side of the political spectrum, liberal extremists have shifted even further left and are pushing a brand of socialism that would undo all of the recent gains. Fortunately for America, Democrats have a new poster child for stupidity and her name is Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
After unseating one of the Democratic Party’s Top 5 incumbents in the primaries, Ocasio-Cortez has become nothing short of a liberal rock star. She ran in New York’s 14th Congressional District under slogans such as “Socialism Will Win.” Despite socialism being a global disaster that has thrust entire nations such as Venezuela into abject poverty, the new brand of progressive has become a cultural icon among Democrats.
Clear-minded Americans can only salute her speaking out and thank the DNC leadership because she highlights the reality that the left is both misinformed and misguided. From her left-leaning media interviews to tour with ‘Crazy Old Grandpa’ Bernie Sanders, Ocasio-Cortez appears to be the gift that just keeps on giving. Consider some of the mind-numbing things Ocasio-Cortez has said for the record.
Abolish the Electoral College because it’s Slavery?
In the run-up to the 2016 election, left-leaning media outlets routinely mocked the Trump Campaign by pointing to a perceived electoral college “Blue Wall” that the GOP candidate could not penetrate. Since that gross miscalculation, Democrats would like to change the system altogether. But perhaps no one has made a case for changing the U.S. Constitution quite as bizarrely as Ocasio-Cortez.
“It is well past time we eliminate the Electoral College, a shadow of slavery’s power on America today that undermines our nation as a democratic republic,” Ocasio-Cortez reportedly tweeted.
Political pundits and voters have been at a loss to understand how the Electoral College is equivalent to slavery. But experts are certain about two things. She has managed to garble two Democrat positions. The Electoral College does not enhance the left’s power and Democrats like to cry “racism” every chance they get. In all the ridiculous statements made by radicals such as Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and others, no one has made it sound quite as stupid as Ocasio-Cortez.
Abolish ICE because of Quotas
The political newbie visited an ICE detention center in Texas for the dramatic purpose of verbally abusing agents. The abolish ICE mantra has been repeated by many leading Democrats. The open borders, sanctuary city positions are not favorable to the majority of Americans as violent criminals such as MS-13 infest our communities. As violent crime statistics make their way to the public, voters are increasingly likely to vote down Democrats.
The good news about the New York upstart is that she continues to garner enough media attention on the abolish ICE issue to frighten the daylights out of midterm voters. She appears so overwhelmingly uninformed that more and more voters are likely to recognize that Democrats at large are grossly out of touch.
“As a matter of fact, ICE is the only criminal investigative agency, the only enforcement agency in the United States that has a bed quota. So ICE is required to fill 34,000 beds with detainees every single night and that number has only been increasing since 2009,” Ocasio-Cortez reportedly said.
The shoe-in for the 14th Congressional District mistakes how many beds the agency is required to maintain for a human quota system. Getting her facts straight seems to be a Herculean task she is not able to handle.
“We’re Gonna Flip This Seat Red”
During the 2016 elections, Hillary Clinton made a Freudian slip by saying she was going to close a lot of coal mines once she won. The fact that those are hard-working American jobs meant little to the liberal elitist. Ocasio-Cortez recently made a similar slip by saying “We’re gonna flip this seat red” while on the campaign trail.
During her publicity tour with Bernie Sanders to support Kansas Democrat Brent Welder, she seemed to not know which color her own party prefers. With the backing of Ocasio-Cortez, Welder definitely improves his chances of losing in the mid-term elections.
But, maybe this was a Clinton-like slip. Maybe the New Yorker is covertly working for the GOP and helping to turn America all red. Whether intentional or not, her stupidity can only help Make America Great Again.
