Police Org Endorses President Trump, After Twice Previously Backing Biden

When it comes to law and order, Democrats like Joe Biden are like a deer in the headlights. Or maybe roadkill would be a better description. That would be because, as the saying goes, you can’t straddle the middle of the road and not be run over by someone.

Sleepy Joe and his cronies received another body blow in the latest backlash against rioters and their sympathetic Democrats. President Trump nailed it when he tweeted, “Joe Biden and the Radical Left want to Abolish Police, Abolish ICE, Abolish Bail, Abolish Suburbs, Abolish the 2nd Amendment – and Abolish the American Way of Life. No one will be SAFE in Joe Biden’s America!”

The Biden campaign, however, still doesn’t get it. His spokesman last month said that Biden supports “the urgent need for reform.” That reform includes “funding for public schools, summer programs, and mental health and substance abuse treatment separate from funding for policing – so that officers can focus on the job of policing.”

The problem is that when those officers focus on clearing rioters off the streets, the radical left’s next step is to defund, or as Joe puts it “absolutely” redirect funds from the police. Yeah, Biden has a plan alright. He wants an additional $300 million for “community policing.” The spokesman said that the funding is intended to “improve relationships between officers and residents” and “provide the training that is needed to avert tragic, unjustifiable deaths.”

Again, and as always, Democrats and left-wing liberals have more solutions than there are problems. How would $300 million “improve relationships”? Police are trained from academy days in community relations. Also, the best way to avert tragic, unjustifiable deaths would be for perps and thugs to obey the law and follow lawful orders of the arresting officer.

In fact, the Democrats want to run law enforcement the same way they try to run the military. Both organizations would be primarily social services serving meals on wheels to convince bad people to be good.

That is the opposite view of President Trump, and policemen everywhere know that. In fact, the National Association of Police Organizations (NAPO) just recently endorsed President Trump’s reelection. This association represents more than 241,000 sworn police officers throughout the United States.

NAPO endorsed the Obama-Biden team twice back in 2008 and 2012. Joe, are you getting the message? If not, here are some excerpts from the letter of endorsement to President Trump:

“Our endorsement recognizes your steadfast and very public support for our men and women on the front lines, especially during this time of unfair and inaccurate opprobrium being directed by our members by so many.”

The endorsement letter also praises President Trump for:

  • directing the Attorney General to aggressively prosecute those who attack our officers
  • signing into law the Law Enforcement Mental Health and Wellness Act
  • his advocacy and signing into law the legislation which permanently authorized funds to support 9/11 first responders and their families
  • his revitalization of the Project Safe Neighborhoods program to help reduce violent crime
  • his “unflagging recognition that America’s law enforcement officers, just like any other citizens, have Constitutional rights, too.”

President Trump, of course, was delighted: “THANK YOU [NAPO] and their 241,000 brave law enforcement members for a FULL & COMPLETE ENDORSEMENT! I will ALWAYS back the men and women in blue, and never let you down. LAW AND ORDER will prevail.”
