President Trump is starting to look more like a miracle worker than a politician. He has had no support on border security. A Republican-led Congress couldn’t get him wall funding. With Democrats controlling the House, things have been even worse.
When he came up with his most recent plan to tariff Mexico into submission, even staunch conservatives were against him. He was all alone on this one, and the lack of Congressional support made it unlikely that he could succeed.
It took about a week for him to get Mexico to sign a deal guaranteeing that they’ll help us stem the migration. It’s practically a miracle.
Unfortunately, it’s not going to be enough by itself. Even if Mexico commits to the cause, the rampant corruption and disorganization are going to limit their effectiveness in battling illegal immigration. Worse, this problem is more serious than you might realize.
Nothing to See Here
It’s important to remember that there is no border crisis. The Democrats continue to assure us that this is a manufactured crisis and no real problems exist on our southern border.
Clearly human trafficking isn’t leading to tens of thousands of children being exploited and sometimes sold as sex slaves. New Mexico authorities didn’t just catch an illegal shipment of fentanyl so big that it could have actually wiped out the entire state. Border Patrol stations haven’t been closed for months, and the influx of illegal activity hasn’t steadily grown since last October.
Since there’s no problem, we should be thankful that the Democrats aren’t wasting time, money and energy securing the border. Their refusal to increase processing and holding resources for Border Patrol and ICE definitely haven’t contributed to the deaths of small children and the suffering of thousands.
Back in the land of reality, the border crisis isn’t just growing. It’s more dangerous than anyone realized. Sure, cautious minds have worried that a porous border could be exploited by America’s enemies. Now, we have proof that this threat exists.
It’s time to learn about Abu Henricki. He is a former ISIS fighter who was captured by coalition forces in Syria. Henricki’s story is pretty amazing. He’s a dual citizen of Canada and Trinidad. He was recruited by ISIS for a very special mission. They wanted to send him to Central America. From there, he would join a caravan to enter the United States.
ISIS wanted him to get a job with a financial institution and sabotage it from the inside. He explained the plan in full detail to interrogators after his capture.
Here’s where things get a little strange. Apparently, Henricki was captured because he turned himself in to coalition forces. According to his testimony, ISIS “recruited” him by abducting him and torturing him into submission. Once they were convinced he would carry out their mission, they released him. He went straight to American forces to surrender.
All of this shows us something extremely important. ISIS found a viable way to attack American soil. If they can recruit North American citizens, they can potentially get past travel bans and make it to Central America.
From there, entering the U.S. is a simple matter of walking north and exploiting a child. So far, the only reason we haven’t seen one of these attacks succeed is because the person chosen for the job really didn’t want to do it.
The Problem Grows
Here’s the bigger issue. May just saw a record number of illegal immigrants cross our southern border. The number eclipsed 130,000. The bigger issue is that the majority of them are here to stay. Our border agencies are so overwhelmed that they can’t even hope to adequately process the volume of people coming through. America has very real enemies, and we now know that they’re fully aware of this issue. They have quite literally planned to exploit it.
If we tolerate another Democrat lying and saying that there is no border crisis, we are failing our country. The danger is real and imminent.
We can’t allow this farce to continue. It’s time to get vocal. Harass your Representative (especially if they happen to be a Democrat). Engage the left at every opportunity. This crisis is far beyond control and it must be the primary focus of Congress and our country. It’s long past time to secure our border.
