Senate Democrats have gone on the record threatening members of the U.S. Supreme Court saying they must fall into line with the radical liberal agenda, or else.
Democrats in Congress had no objection to ex-President Obama’s inserting political advocates disguised as impartial judges during his tenure in the White House. But when President Trump nominates SCOTUS judges that lean conservative—all hell breaks loose and Democrats look for a way to circumvent the law!
The shift away from even-handed judicial review to push the so-called “progressive” agenda turned hundreds of years of unbiased precedent on its head. But unlike everyday Americans, Democrats no longer value the checks and balances that deliver fundamental fairness. They now support street gangs such as Antifa and others who beat up people wearing MAGA hats. In short, they have normalized violence against those who stand in the way of what they want, which now includes threatening sitting members of the nation’s highest court.
In a stunning move, a group of extremist Democrat senators went beyond pushing soundbites in the mainstream media. This time they filed a formal brief related to gun law changes. The overt threat was unmistakable.
“The Supreme Court is not well. And the people know it,” the brief said. “Perhaps the Court can heal itself before the public demands it be ‘restructured in order to reduce the influence of politics.’”
Senators Sheldon Whitehouse, Richard Blumenthal, Mazie Hirono, Richard Durbin, and Kirsten Gillibrand pointed to the high court’s conservative majority that has delivered equitable ruling regardless of the political affiliation of the cases it has reviewed. By contrast, Obama appointees— Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan — have consistently and almost exclusively ruled in favor of the liberal agenda.
Which is NOT what President Donald J. Trump’s appointments — Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh — have done. Both of the freshman Justices have issued decisions that went against conservative ideology. In truth, Justices Gorsuch and Kavanaugh have made rulings on issues valued by both parties.
Despite new appointees delivering impartial decisions, Democrats are preparing to play dirty and overrun the court with partisan politicians masked as judges should they take back the White House next year.
“Today, fifty-five percent of Americans believe the Supreme Court is ‘mainly motivated by politics’ (up five percent from last year); fifty-nine percent believe the Court is ‘too influenced by politics;’ and a majority now believes the ‘Supreme Court should be restructured in order to reduce the influence of politics,” the scurrilous Democrat brief states.
Many legal insiders consider this brief a direct threat to Chief Justice Roberts who is widely considered the “swing vote” on pivotal issues. In the past, he has shown a desire to appease political forces. Some view him as a man trying referee the competing ideologies within the high court. Others see him as the weak link.
“They know that Chief Justice Roberts is a cowardly weakling who is susceptible to this kind of pressure. Word is that he caved and changed his vote shortly before the Obamacare decision came out,” a lawyer who practices at the federal level reportedly commented anonymously.
“After Obama engaged in some similar saber-rattling. And, of course, his concurrence in the case on Auer deference was a textbook example of his cowardice behind a mask of appearing ‘judicial.’ One can only hope that Roberts is smart enough to recognize that if he keeps caving to this kind of pressure, he’ll just encourage more of it, to the lasting injury to the Court.”
Everyday Americans ought to consider the threat to turn the U.S. Supreme Court into an extension of the Democratic party with deadly seriousness. Among the field of Democratic presidential hopefuls, Beto O’Rourke, Cory Booker, Elizabeth Warren, Kamala Harris, Pete Buttigieg, and Kirsten Gillibrand, have all gone on the record saying they are ready to pack the court to get liberal outcomes.
Left-wing political action committees have sprung up pushing for expanding the number of judges, and they are putting enormous pressure on Democrat presidential candidates. Pack the Court, a radical left-wing organization, advocates for Democrats to insert operatives into the high court and maintain an ongoing majority.
“Any one of these brilliant frontrunners can list a host of ideas and generate tremendous enthusiasm,” Pack the Court’s Kendell reportedly said. “What I want to hear is how you are going to implement those game-changing policy reforms. “Based on (the court’s) history, they’re going to strike down all of those.”
Groups such as Pack the Court and liberal extremist Democrats care nothing for whether a law is consistent with the values of the U.S. Constitution. Instead, they use double-talk to say they want to “depoliticize” the high court. What they really mean is they want what they want, regardless of whether it is lawful.
