The 3 Craziest Beliefs of Bernie Sanders

According to the mainstream media, Bernie Sanders has less than a one-percent chance of getting the Democratic nomination. The Democrat establishment has declared the primaries over. Those sentiments are more than a little overblown. Biden is the favorite right now, but Bernie isn’t out yet. And with Biden’s mental facilities declining by the day, Bernie is smart to stay in until the convention this summer.

The delegate count as of this writing is 870 to 714, favoring Joe. A candidate needs 1,991 delegates to win. There’s a lot of primary left, so let’s not ease up on crazy Bernie just yet (not that Biden is a good candidate either).

Some of Bernie’s ideas that can be classified as sexually deviant. We covered Bernie’s most deviant beliefs here.

Turns out that was just the tip of the iceberg. Here’s round two and a fair warning: some of what you are about to read will make you want to smash your head into a wall.

Nationalize Hitchhiking

You read that right. When Sanders was first getting into politics in the early 70s, he was known for attention-grabbing ideas that garnered absolutely no support. This was one of them, and he published an essay on the topic on behalf of the Liberty Union party (a crazy socialist party that died out about as quickly as it started).

The premise is pretty simple. Comrade Sanders believed that hitchhiking was an inherently good thing and that hitchhiking bans were bad. Of course, he couldn’t stop there. He suggested that the United States needed to widen every highway access ramp in order to encourage hitchhiking.

Then he went completely bananas and suggested that compulsory hitchhiking laws might be necessary to ‘help’ the American people embrace this wonderful practice.

Ok. That’s not exactly nationalizing hitchhiking, but it was Bernie’s best attempt to do so.

Kids Shouldn’t Be Educated

Can you believe that Mr. Free College once campaigned (yes, campaigned) on a platform of removing compulsory education laws?! According to Bernie, schools “crush the spirits of our children.” He fought hard on this one, and while he probably had lots of rationalizations, the bottom line is simple.

Socialists don’t like educated voters. If kids aren’t taught basic critical thinking skills, it will be a lot easier to keep the next generation under the Red heel of Bernie’s communist boot.

A Hodgepodge of Crazy

Sadly, there are too many different examples of insanity to cover each at length. So, here’s a best-of list of some of his dumbest and wildest beliefs, and most of them did not age well.

According to Bernie, the Rockefeller family is a de facto dictatorship of the U.S. He said this in the ‘70s, and let’s check his prediction. The Rockefellers have done nothing significant in politics in decades. While the combined family is still worth around $10 billion, that’s split more than 200 ways. Sure, they’re wealthy, but they’re nobodies in terms of wealth-driven power these days.

In 1974, Bernie made this bold prediction. The United States will enter an economic dark age within 10 years because of capitalism. Guess he couldn’t predict the Reagan era.

The best of all is Bernie’s stance on television. As an old commie, he hated the innovation known as TV. He claimed that it was a true evil because it resembles “the well-tested Hitlerian principle that people should be treated as morons and bombarded over and over again with the same simple phrases and ideas.” A cursory look at the Bernie campaign confirms that the irony of this statement is lost on the Senator and everyone who works for him. You don’t have to love TV, but if there is anyone bombarding people with simple phrases and treating them like idiots. . .

Bernie has also called for the disbanding of the CIA, Homeland Security and Border Patrol (oh, and ICE too). He’s a lunatic radical. He has been his whole life, and the thing his supporters love most about him is what should terrify you. He has never walked back any of it. He’s still a true believer. This is his vision for America.
