The Continuing Hubris of Hillary Rodham Clinton

We’ve learned more about Hillary Clinton and her true colors through her defeat than we ever would have learned about her if she had won in 2016. Ever since being crushed by Donald Trump in the general election, Clinton has demonstrated nothing but self-pity, a loathing for any American or group of Americans who did not vote for her, and an extraordinary level of hubris that defeat has done nothing to stimmy.

In other words, Clinton is exactly what so many knew her to be long before her downfall – a greedy, self-absorbed politician whose primary role in public office was feeding her own ego.

So great is the hubris of Hillary Clinton that she still actually believes that she is the real, rightful President of the United States. At a recent event with Gwen Carr, Clinton was introduced to the crowd as “the real President”.

Clinton’s response? She smiled, laughed, and nodded in agreement.

Let’s unpack this for a minute. Toward the end of the 2016 election, when it looked like Hillary Clinton’s victory was all but guaranteed, she and her supporters expressed fear that Trump would not accept the results of the election.

They labeled this action that Trump had not yet even taken as entirely un-American and harmful to our Democracy. Yet fast-forward almost two years later and it is Hillary Clinton who is still refusing to accept the results of the fair election she lost by a landslide.

Clinton and her supporters will point to the fact that Hillary Clinton won the popular vote as evidence that she is the true winner of the 2016 election. The popular vote, however, is just a statistic and not a score. Hillary Clinton claiming she won the election because she won the popular vote is akin to a football team claiming they won the game because they had more yards of offense even though they were down on the scoreboard.

In the electoral college – which is the true prize that both Clinton and Trump were competing for and the goal that all of their strategies were built around – Clinton got trounced.

Yet in spite of these facts that even a high school civics student could recognize, Clinton still seems to believe that she was cheated out of her “right” to become the 45th President of the United States.

The one silver lining is that it seems as if people on both sides of the aisle are fully fed up with Clinton’s arrogance and blame-game. The internet didn’t react positively to Hillary Clinton agreeing that she was the true President, and a number of Twitter users took the opportunity to roast Clinton over this latest misstep in hilarious fashion.

“As is the case with so many of our beloved seniors, the shock of being told she lost to Donald Trump would be too much for her, so they all just go along with her. It’s a common technique people use for their Gam Gams so we have more time with them,” Steven Miller said.

“At some point this is just sad. Sad the way some people think the earth is flat or that chocolate milk comes from brown cows…like I know you want this to be true, but it never will be,” said Angela Morabito.

The delusion of Hillary Clinton doesn’t stop there, though. Perhaps even more outlandish than the fact she thinks that she is the rightful President is the fact that she thinks she still might win the Presidency fair and square one day soon. The twice-failed Presidential candidate hasn’t ruled out giving it one more go in 2020.

If she did, a Hillary Clinton 2020 run would be the best gift the GOP and Donald Trump could ever be given. The Clintons still have far too much money and clout for the DNC to stop her from running, as much as they would like to.

Chances are that Clinton would be able to cheat her way into the winning the Democratic nomination again in 2020 the same way she did in 2016 when she worked with the DNC to actively rig the election against Bernie Sanders.

Come the general election, though, Clinton would be in for an almost guaranteed defeat. Her popularity has tanked since 2016, while Trump’s popularity has risen. Barring a major turn of events, Trump would be able to beat Clinton far worse in 2020 than he did in 2016.

Of course, none of that matters to a woman so deluded and self-absorbed that she still believes she was cheated and is the rightful heir to the presidency. Clinton’s hubris was the downfall of the Democratic Party in 2016, and, if they don’t stop her, she may be their downfall again.
