The Despicable Real Reason for the Illegal Caravan

An ever-growing caravan of between 7 and 10 thousand Central Americans continues its march across Mexico and its leaders vow they will not be stopped before crossing the border into the United States. While those headed this way from Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua are not without blame, the real reason for yet another “caravan” falls squarely at the feet of power-hungry Democrats and business-first Republicans.

President Trump has made it plain he will halt federal aid funding to the nations if they do not act to stop the exodus. He has also relayed strong warnings to the Mexican government and Washington insiders that he puts the American people ahead of political self-interest.

Tucker Carlson of Fox News noted Thursday that Democrats like Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D- CA) refuse to join President Trump’s calls to stop the caravan of Central American migrants for one main reason – they believe “unchecked immigration will strengthen their hold on power.” He told his viewers:

“An entire political party is inviting it,” adding that when Pelosi told an audience it would be “immoral to build a wall”, it is because she believes unchecked immigration will help their political future.

Laura Ingraham went further to call Democrat’s political grandstanding and its ally, the mainstream media, a “caravan of lies and manipulation. What began as a relatively small group of 1,600 has exploded to its current numbers due to a narrative that portrays anyone speaking the truth about the “invaders” to be cruel, horrible, rotten people.”

CNN anchor Chris Cuomo disagreed this week accusing Republicans of trying to convince voters that the “scary people from the south are coming for you” adding they want voters to see immigrants as “different [and] not as civilized as you.”

It hasn’t been missed by insightful commentators like Ingraham that is no coincidence Trump has been portrayed in the worst possible light less than a month before the mid-term elections. “The media’s over-the-top slurs against those of us who believe the system must change and the border must be protected speaks volumes about their bias and their real motivation, which is to help Democrats,” she said.

It isn’t just Democrats who are using the issue to bolster their own standing. Republican Steve Schmidt, a former McCain campaign adviser, compared Trump’s border policy to the Trail of Tears. “This is a moral outrage,” he said as he invoked “slave auction blocks and separation of Native American families.” The U.S. Chamber of Commerce continues to support illegal immigrants for reasons that have little to do with the plight of oppressed people.

Politicians of all persuasions have been kicking the can of illegal immigration to the next administration for decades. But, as Ingraham notes President Trump “finally” wants to tackle the problem instead of passing it to the next president. She said Americans “treasure” Hispanic residents who came here legally, and many of the calls she receives on her radio show are from “enraged” legal immigrants.

Trump has had enough. During his first two years in office, Democrats and business-first Republicans in Congress have refused his pressure to build a border wall, close the loopholes, and fund larger detention centers. They refuse to even try and impose penalties on American companies that fund the migration by hiring the migrants who use their paychecks to pay off their debts to the cartel-affiliated coyotes.

Now, word has come from Esquipulas, Guatemala, near the Honduran border that 2,000 more are leaving Honduras. Even the New York Times and the Washington Post admit migrants in the current caravan are not fleeing from criminal gangs but openly seeking US jobs.

Meanwhile, Democratic leaders declared, “The president is desperate to change the subject from health care to immigration because he knows that health care is the number one issue Americans care about.” Sen. Chuck Schumer and Rep. Nancy Pelosi urged Democratic candidates to ignore public worries about the migration. They are urging their party’s candidates to ignore migration issues before the elections even as the fast-growing sea of migrants makes its way northwards through Mexico.

Bill O’Reilly, now of Newsmax TV told his viewers that the practice of allowing asylum-seekers into the United States and then losing track of them is the main reason why there are 12 million illegal immigrants living in the country now. If 7,000 migrants this time, he said, “then it will be 50,000 next time and 100,000 the time after that.”
