From Dana Perino expressing her love for Dominion Voting Systems, to Laura Ingraham proclaiming that President Trump has no hope of prevailing before the Supreme Court, Fox News certainly does suck these days. In a transition more shocking than Bruce Jenner’s, the station that we all thought was on America’s side for the past two decades has turned out to be just another CNN. Will Bill Hemmer of Fox News and Tater Stelter of CNN soon be sharing a six-pack of Zima while playing on a waterslide and then sharing a good cry about Trump’s mean tweets?
What a disaster! The ratings at Fox News have been in freefall since Election Night and it doesn’t look like they’re even close to bottoming out.
Here’s a look at the current breakdown of the numbers:
Friday, Nov. 20 is the most recent date that we have hard numbers for, as of this writing. CNN crushed Fox News in the 25-54 demographic every single hour from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Every… single… hour…
Someone called Erin Burnett, who apparently works at CNN, more than doubled Martha McCallum’s ratings on The Story at 7 p.m. (563,000 to 253,000). For the first time in more than four years, CIA operative Anderson Cooper of CNN topped Tucker Carlson in the 25 to 54 demo.
Carlson still pulled in more total viewers than Cooper. He had 3.6 million viewers overall that night. But that’s a drop of nearly 2 million viewers for what was the most popular show on all of cable just three weeks ago.
The daytime plunge in Fox News viewership is catastrophic. From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Fox News is now the NUMBER THREE news station on cable:
CNN – 1,719,000 viewers
MSNBC – 1,528,000 viewers
Fox News – 1,511,000 viewers
Since he sold out and attacked Trump attorney Sidney Powell, Tucker Carlson has lost more viewers than CNN or MSNBC had to begin with!
I’m one of them. The first step on the road to recovery is admitting that you have a problem! I quickly became a fan of Tucker Carlson when his show started right after Trump’s election in 2016. I’d catch it whenever I could. For the past year or so, Tucker Carlson Tonight was a nightly habit. I had to drop whatever I was doing whenever his opening monologue started. If I missed the live version, I’d catch the repeat a few hours later or watch one of the pirated versions on YouTube.
I’d also catch Hannity a couple of times a week and even tuned in for Laura Ingraham every other week or so. Not anymore. I haven’t tuned in for a minute of Fox News’ programming since Carlson’s bizarre attack on Sidney Powell last week.
Why did Carlson sell out? I don’t know for sure, but I suspect his $6 million-a-year salary might have had something to do with it.
One thing that I do know is that I now have an extra hour of free time every weekday to get more important things done. What a gift!
We haven’t been able to confirm this for certain, but there are rumors flying around that Donna Brazile has been named Interim News Director at Fox News. Yes, that Donna Brazile. The same Donna Brazile who was once the head of the DNC and who handed CNN’s questions to Hillary Clinton before her debate with Donald Trump in 2016. Again – we haven’t confirmed this as true yet. But if it is true, it would go a long way toward explaining the sudden shift in news ethics at Fox News.
As conservatives we’re used to being stabbed in the back by institutions that we thought were on our side. From the Boy Scouts to the Heritage Foundation to the Southern Baptist Convention, it’s always disappointing. But losing Fox News really stings.
It’s not all doom and gloom, though. If there’s one thing that the internet age and the Donald Trump presidency have taught us, it’s that we can always rebuild something bigger and better from the ashes left behind.
So long, Fox News! It was nice knowing you! The millions of patriotic Americans that you betrayed have moved on and we’re looking for greener pastures. OAN and Newsmax look promising, so we’ll be checking them out instead of bothering with yet another CNN clone. Say hello to the Kraken for us.
