Ever since Gamergate officially defeated whining social justice warriors in the gaming community and the culture wars went full throttle, there has hardly been a day since the left has not either committed an act of violence against the right or falsely claimed to have been the victims of violence.
For those who have not been paying attention, it can be rather hard to get one’s head around that claim. But the fact is that political violence is entirely a left-to-right phenomenon in this country. And if you study your history with an open mind, you’ll see that the left invented political violence. Let me explain…
In the buildup to the 2016 election, we saw a series of leftist groups—primarily ANTIFA—causing riots, setting fires, destroying public and private property, and attacking people waiting to see conservative speakers on college campuses. Most prominent among these was an ANTIFA riot on the Berkeley campus in California. The group attacked people waiting to hear a speech by Milo Yiannopoulos.
Milo is a gay, Jewish, conservative from England who is married to a black man. But the left consistently accuses him of hating blacks, being anti-Semitic, and anti-gay. Three accusations that bear less weight than a wet feather. Nevertheless, ANTIFA brutally attacked a primarily women crowd in MAGA hats outside the building where his speech was to be held. At the same time this was going on, Berkeley campus cops were directed to stand down and not stop any violent acts.
This pattern has been repeated at dozens of colleges not only in the United States, but in Canada, Australia, and England. In every instance, ANTIFA members violently attacked Trump supporters while police refused to intervene.
After years of this behavior and with no end to the violence in sight or help, President Trump has finally taken notice. He has put American colleges on notice after Hayden Williams, an employee of Campus Reform, was brutally attacked on February the 19th, 2019.
The president has finally stated publicly and in an official capacity that he will no longer stand by while conservatives are silenced and attacked on college campuses. He made the following statement on Saturday, March 3rd:
“Today I’m proud to announce that I will be personally signing an executive order requiring colleges and universities to support free speech if they want federal research dollars. If they want our dollars, and we give it to them by the billions, they’ve got to allow people like Hayden and many other young people and old people to speak. And if they don’t it will be very costly.”
This has been a long time coming, so long in fact, that many of Trump’s supporters were beginning to wonder if he was ever going to stand up for them as these violent attacks in the streets and on college campuses were continuing to happen without any interference or change from college administrators.
According to Breitbart.com, since 2016, there have been 639 acts of violence perpetrated by self-proclaimed leftists against Trump supporters (and perceived trump supporters) which were approved of by the mainstream media who only condoned the violence when asked to by conservative guests.
Breitbart said, “It is open season on Trump supporters, and the media is only fomenting, encouraging, excusing, and hoping for more… The media are now openly calling Trump supporters “Nazis” and are blaming Trump for a mass murder he had nothing to do with. This, of course, is a form of harassment because it incites and justifies mob violence.”
The article goes on to list hundreds of instances of verified attacks on perceived Trump supporters. When you go down the list, there’s one thing you’ll notice as you scroll your way down- the fact that you’ve probably never heard of the vast majority of these attacks. That’s because the mainstream media does not report them unless they are forced to.
You can be sure, if any of these attacks had befallen a member of the left it would be plastered all over the nightly news. The other thing you’ll notice is that the list is very, very, very long. Breitbart makes a point of encouraging their readers to alert them to errors and additions to the list. Unlike the left-wing media, they want to make their retractions and corrections easy to find and in earnest.
Probably the biggest lie you’ll hear on this topic is that the violence is a two-way street. This is wrong. Leftists are very nearly the only instigators in these increasingly common conflicts. Conservatives are often much better prepared to defend themselves. And when police finally arrive—if they ever do—what they find is a badly beaten leftist aggressor and a largely unharmed conservative. We’ll leave you to guess who is usually the one to be arrested.
