What do Spiro Agnew and Joe Biden have in common? For starters, they were both corrupt vice presidents. Agnew resigned after pleading no contest in a tax evasion rap, but Biden was never caught. The story involving President Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky might be enough to do just that thanks to a so-called whistleblower report that is blowing up in his face.
It all started with yet another forlorn and pathetic effort on the part of Democrats to run our President out of the White House. A whistleblower supposedly charged the President with pressuring Ukraine’s leader to work with Rudy Giuliani in investigating Joe Biden’s son. The President purportedly used the implied withdrawal of military aid as leverage.
Washington Democrats and fake-press nearly blew a gasket at the assertation. Trump-hater Rep. Adam Schiff, chair of the leaky-sieve House Intelligence committee was shocked…shocked! The White House must immediately report the name of the whistleblower and provide a transcript of the conversation immediately.
In fact, the President’s behavior was so egregious that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez broke her peace pact with Nancy Pelosi and again started railing against the Democratic leadership. Even Nancy Pelosi had to admit that this was a bad one. If the President doesn’t come clean, she would have no choice but to unleash an impeachment investigation.
Never mind that such a baseless investigation would bog down her party in a useless effort that would go nowhere in the Senate and probably alienate normal Americans in 2020. Apparently Nancy, approaching age 80, is considering giving up the struggle and allowing the inmates to take over the loony bin that the Democrat Party has become.
Meanwhile, President Trump must have smiled as once again the Democrats forgot that their religion of visceral hatred makes telling the truth a sin. The truth of the matter was simply a perplexed shrug as President Trump wondered aloud whether anyone would actually believe that he would threaten another world leader on a call that was recorded and in the presence of many.
President Trump made no improper requests, “I said absolutely nothing wrong; it was perfect. There was no quid pro quo, there was nothing.”
In fact, the day after the fake story broke, the Ukrainian Foreign minister said, “I know what the conversation was about and I think there was no pressure. There was talk; conversations are different; leaders have the right to discuss any problems that exist. This conversation was long, friendly, and it touched on many questions, sometimes requiring serious answers.”
Even Trump-hating CNN acknowledged that the whistleblower had no first-hand knowledge of the call.
“Oh, yeah?” said Democrats. “Prove it. Give everything you’ve got and let leaky Adam Schiff’s Intelligence Committee fully investigate it. Our democracy is at stake here.”
Here’s where the dopey Democrats once again opened another Wily Coyote Acme trunk spring-loaded with a stick of dynamite. The White House can withhold information protected by executive privilege while the coyotes of Congress wail and rant. When they have finally exhausted everything with hearings and investigations leading nowhere, they will have lost even more ground in their struggle for credibility among normal people.
It’s all about the rant, which is about all the 2020 Democrat candidates have going for them. The Mueller report was a bust. The economy didn’t cooperate with their hoped-for recession, and they are certainly not resonating with minority voters with their ridiculous charges of racism. Even unions want no part of the Democrats’ plans to cancel their hard-won medical insurance coverage.
One Democrat candidate, however, is getting another message. The report called uncomfortable attention to what Joe Biden did when he was a sitting vice president. He pressured the Ukrainians to call off prosecutors who were interfering with his son Hunter’s deal in the Ukraine.
President Trump, ever the master of the pithy tweet put it this way: “Sleepy Joe Biden…forced a tough prosecutor out from investigating his son’s company by threat of not giving big dollars to Ukraine. That’s the real story!” (And the story is live and in color on a YouTube video where Joe openly brags about what he did.)
Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., correctly observed that the whistleblower complaint had all the hallmarks of the Russia hoax. He pointed out that the backfire will ultimately shine a light on Biden’s own misconduct.
The details of Hunter Biden’s shenanigans and alleged $3 million kickback are just now emerging, and Rudy Giuliani has said that things will get worse for the Biden crime family. The Biden campaign may see the writing on the wall here and could be getting ready to fold their tee-pees. Speaking of which, Elizabeth “Pocahontas” Warren has caught up with Gropin’ Joe in the polls.
