What Does the “Terrifying New UN Climate Report” Actually Say?

Now that Kavanagh is confirmed and not ruining the country, mainstream media is short on news for the week. In response to that, they’ve all been pushing the same narrative. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has released a new report to the UN. According to the left, it’s terrifying. Possibly by accident, they’re actually right, but not for the reasons you might think. Here’s everything you need to know about the new report.

Fear Mongering

The IPCC is supposedly a world authority on climate research and climate change. One might expect them to display professionalism in their reporting. Instead, the report reads more like a first-grader’s rendition of Chicken Little.

The gist of the whole report is that the world will reap catastrophe if the Earth warms up 1.5 to 2.0 degrees Celsius. They say that current models predict that we can hit the 1.5 mark by 2040 if things are left unchecked. If the United States doesn’t join the Paris Agreement, we could even hit 2.0 by that same year. Seriously, that’s the implication of the study.

The apparent dangers of unchecked climate change read like a progressive checklist. They warn of worsening storms, rising sea levels, massive famine, droughts, floods, wildfires and more. They don’t care about the contradictory nature of some of those claims; they just keep pushing.

Ultimately, they try to bring it back into the realm of science by putting probability statements on the risks of global warming. They say that at 1.5 degrees, there is a moderate risk of major ecological damage and the extinction of some species. At 2.0 degrees, they argue that the risk jumps in likelihood. Despite being a scientific authority, they don’t really try to put numbers on these probabilities. Apparently, they’ve learned to be about as specific as a street-performing fortune teller.

Ultimately, it all points to a single conclusion. The entire world needs to band together to try and limit global warming to that 1.5 mark.

But Wait

The report is hundreds of pages long, so it has a lot to say. Plenty of that message is the usual doom and gloom you would expect, but there a few key findings that left-wing mainstream media is happy to gloss over.

The first major note is that warming has already hit the 1-degree mark. This is pretty important. We’re two-thirds of the way to global catastrophe, and yet we see no signs of an ending world. Cataclysmic weather is in decline. Globally, wildfires are in decline. World food production is at an all-time high. By every indicator, being most of the way to these disastrous temperature marks hasn’t hurt the world at all.

This leads us to the second and more important admission within the IPCC report. The first such report predicted that we would be at 1.5 degrees of warming already. Even in 2014 they were predicting that the 1.5 point would be upon us by 2022. Now, suddenly, we have an extra few decades to fall in line with their recommendations. This is either an admission that every single climate change model accepted by the IPCC has been grossly inaccurate, or it’s a desperate ploy to retain relevance.

We didn’t listen to their last prediction, and the world didn’t end. All they can do now is pull out their erasers, change the goal posts and hope people panic enough not to notice.

The Real Message

You know what this is about. They’re using a veil thinner than the ice sheets they claim are melting. This is the UN hiring scientists to push a message that the United States is a villain. The Paris Agreement is listed more than 30 times in the report (I got tired of counting), and it is heralded as the only hope of saving the world. If that isn’t a jab at the U.S. . .

Let’s remember a few things about the Paris Agreement. Of all of the countries that signed it, only nine have actually reduced their CO2 emissions. Since the U.S. walked away from the agreement, it has reduced carbon emissions by almost as much as those nine countries combined.

In the meantime, China, India and the EU continue to be three of the four biggest emitters in the world. Their emissions are also growing faster than any other groups (except Turkey which comes in a 3rd ahead of the EU).

The IPCC report is a blatant attack on capitalism. The Paris Agreement was designed to punish prosperous countries and try to redistribute their wealth to other regions. At no point did it ever offer any semblance of a means to cut global CO2 emissions. No one involved was actually worried about climate change, and the same can be said about the UN and the IPCC.

These are continuously moving goal posts that have completely contradicted their own claims every few years. They want to end capitalism and try to take American wealth as their own. Liberals will tell you that this is paranoid thinking, but the IPCC report suggests that 10-percent of the global GDP needs to be redirected to combat climate change. Where do you think they suggest they find that wealth?

Yes, this report should frighten you, but not because of the continual lies about impending climate disaster. It should frighten you because the UN has openly endorsed a stance of redistributing capitalist wealth. They are ignoring the inarguable fact that capitalism has taken billions of people out of poverty over the last 25 years.

They don’t care that capitalism is still winning, and with the U.S. leading the way, billions more can leave poverty each decade. They want what we have, and they are willing to openly lie about science to try and seize it. Do you want to know the real reason Nikki Haley resigned her post? She knows a lost battle when she sees it.

You have a chance to decide the fate of our country in just a few weeks. Don’t forget that the fate of the world depends on what the United States chooses right now. You can let the socialists burn it all down, or you can declare with your free voice that you’ve had enough. Which will it be?
