Why Trump Can Succeed as President Where Elites Fail

Donald J. Trump is a bit of a wild card as presidential candidates go. He is a wildly successful international real estate tycoon with properties around the world and a number of famous buildings in New York City- not the least of which is the glittering Trump Tower.

He has also had a conspicuous career as a television personality with such so-called reality shows such as The Apprentice, where his cutting shrewdness gave rise to his catchphrase: “You’re fired!”

Somewhat less well known is his work as an out of the box political activist and advocate for populist issues. He has stood side by side with such celebrity politicians and advocates for the common working person as Jesse Ventura and was an outspoken opponent of military action in Iraq after the attacks of September 11, 2001.

His bid for the office of the president has arguably been in the works for years. He was asked in the early 90’s by Oprah Winfrey on her talk show if he would consider running. At the time, he was well received by Oprah’s audience as a fearless advocate for the people.

Trump’s rhetorical style is- to parrot the mainstream line- unconventional. He does not use the same mode of managerial speech that we have grown to expect from our public officials. For this reason, the media calls him ‘unhinged’ and ‘unprofessional.’

But Donald Trump’s tone has struck a chord with Americans who are tired of being spoken down to, Americans who probably never expected to hear anything but inflated doublespeak from our leaders. Trump speaks to us- not at us. It may sound like a small distinction, but to real, honest, hard-working people struggling to make ends meet- it’s everything.

Over the last year, and more- his presidential campaign has come under fire by Republicans and Democrats alike. They call him unqualified, mentally unstable- they call him a racist, a woman-hater, and worse.

This has left many people, with an active frontal cortex, wondering why both sides of the isle and the entire 4th estate would be gunning for him so vociferously.

They say Trump is dangerous. Well, to be fair- every American president is dangerous. We have, after all, been in a constant state of war since April of 1871- and have been so in the name of both liberal and conservative ideals.

But we think the reason they say Trump is dangerous has more to do with self-interest than with any concern for the safety of Americans, or the citizens of the next country we send troops to.

What makes Trump ‘dangerous’ is not the fact that he makes sensationalized statements to the American people. What makes him dangerous is the fact that he does not sell his integrity to monied interests. He does not place himself in compromising positions- opening himself up to blackmail or legal action.

You can bet your life that no one has died on their way to testify against him in court. He’s dangerous to the Petro-Dollar, and the massive lobbying oil infrastructure that depends on Saudi oil for its income.

Trump has struck panic into the hearts of the Saudi Arabian government by pushing the missing 28 pages from the 9/11 Commission Report which, we are all but certain, contains evidence that incriminates them and- we suspect- some people even closer to home.

Where Obama has thrown the victims of those who died on that terrible day under the bus, a Trump presidency may mean a long-awaited closure for so many still grieving people.

Why else are they afraid of him? Well, we’ve seen Hillary slide away from investigation after investigation this year and last year. A Trump administration could mean an end to her, and people such as her, being able to evade the arm of justice.

Are there any other reasons the elites fear Trump? It’s hard to say with certainty, but it appears that our foreign policies have for years been selling America short, and there’s little doubt that there have been some very substantial rewards for those whose hands control the public coffers when they tilt the levers the wrong way.

Trump has promised to put an end to what he calls bad business acumen in Washington, to make deals that would benefit the U.S., rather than sell it further down the river.

In short, a Trump presidency would mean the end of a gravy train for a lot of establishment families that have been on the take for far too long.
