Americans Have Never Been Gaslighted This Much in Our Nation’s History

The riots, violence against citizens and police, fires, looting, burning and overall mayhem began, oh, let’s see… four years ago when Donald Trump was running for president. Elected officials are lying to their constituents about what’s happening. The media, nervously smelling the smoke from just down the street from their offices, says the “peaceful protests” are “intensifying.” Have you ever seen this much blatant gaslighting?

House Judiciary Committee Chairman and world champion sprinter Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) was confronted and asked about the two straight months of nightly violence, chaos, rioting and fires in Portland, OR. Nadler is in charge of the House committee that oversees federal law enforcement in the United States. Nadler replied, “That’s a myth.” Then, he displayed the cat-like agility and speed that he is best known for by waddling to a car and speeding away from the citizen who dared to ask him a question.

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s city is now on pace to top 700 murders in 2020. 700! More than 2,000 people have been shot and wounded there in the first half of this year. Guns are all but illegal for private citizens to own in Chicago, but Mayor Lightfoot knows exactly who is to blame for all the violence and chaos in her city: Other states that have not banned assault rifles.

In Richmond, Virginia over the weekend, Black Lives Matter charged the police station, set a city dump truck on fire and damaged several buildings on the Virginia Commonwealth University campus. The good news is that the Richmond Police Department has identified the culprits: White supremacists who dressed up in Black Lives Matter costumes to instigate the violence.

The Richmond police did arrest six black people by mistake during the violence, but then quickly released them when they realized they were not white supremacists in disguise. The real perpetrators – the white supremacists – all got away. Maybe the Richmond cops should check on the whereabouts of Virginia Governor Ralph Northam (D) and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau over the weekend.

On a related note, if anyone has a suggestion for defunding the Richmond, VA police department, we’re suddenly willing to listen!

It is gaslighting on a Biblical scale. Up is down! War is peace! Jerrold Nadler wasn’t even at the buffet!

The main problem for the Democrats – and this was Crooked Hillary’s problem in 2016 as well – is that gaslighting no longer works in the age of the internet, social media and cellphone cameras. Hillary couldn’t turn around and lie and claim, “Why, no, I never referred to half of the voters as a Basket of Deplorables” because we had all seen the video.

It’s no longer 1996. Bill and Hillary Clinton enjoyed a golden age of being able to look into the cameras and tell blatant, shameless lies to the American people. Who would call them on it? A newspaper here and there might be able to report on their lies, but only a handful of people would have read it. CNN would avoid negative stories about the Clintons entirely – and that was that.

There was no Twitter or Facebook or YouTube where anyone with a cell phone could instantly expose the left’s gaslighting in those days. (Come to think of it, there weren’t even cell phones, let alone an internet.) Sure, Twitter, Facebook and YouTube do their best to try to suppress the information, but there are simply too many of us sharing content for them to completely squash it all. The truth gets out.

We know that the violence in Portland is not a “myth” because we see it with our own eyes. We know that NRA members aren’t driving into Chicago to shoot black toddlers in the street with their AR-15s. We know that Jimmy Kimmel isn’t lathering himself up with shoe polish to set dump trucks on fire in Richmond.

The really funny thing in all this is that the Democrats don’t realize how badly we are gaslighting them. Joe Biden is leading in all the polls by 60, 70 or 80 points! Yep. Because not a single person in America is sitting around in a MAGA hat and suppressing their giggles as they tell the pollster on the phone, “Oh, yes, Joe Biden is my man! Can’t wait to vote for him in November!”
