Schiff’s Star Witness Just Destroyed the Steele Dossier

Impeachment is not going well for House Intelligence Chairman Rep. Adam Schiff. Pretty much all of his witnesses have just been discussing water cooler talk. There has been no actual evidence—no lynch pin so to speak—of any crime.

The idea that we’re investigating a crime that we’re not sure happened is really weird. The police don’t look for a murderer unless someone is dead, right?

Well, when you do everything wrong, it’s bound to come back on you, and that’s exactly what is happening to Schiff right now. Some pieces of a testimony that was given behind closed doors came to the surface, and it’s another explosion in the left’s face.

Schiff called Dr. Fiona Hill in to testify as a star witness on Thursday. She was a White House advisor, specializing in Russian politics. She stopped working in that capacity in July. She also worked in the intelligence community and is on the National Security Council.

Schiff’s plan was to set her up as a credible witness on President Trump and foreign policy. She testified for hours behind closed doors. Not all of that testimony is public information, but some important facts have made it to the light.

There’s a bombshell included in that bundle. It’s not at all what Schiff wanted. In fact, this whole impeachment inquiry seems to be an exercise in Democrats shooting their own feet.

Here’s one of the craziest aspects of the current Democrats. They’re currently trying to impeach President Trump for colluding with Ukraine. At the same time, they’re still pushing the Russia collusion narrative. Nancy Pelosi said it on TV just the other day. They don’t seem to realize that you have to choose Ukraine or Russia. The countries are literally at war right now.

Regardless of the silliness, this narrative attempt by the left is why Dr. Hill ended up discussing the Steele Dossier in her testimony. Now, we all know that the dossier was complete garbage. It was paid opposition research, and everything in it is completely unsubstantiated or has been proven to be outright false. It should not be considered ‘research,’ and yet, it was the only evidence ever provided that President Trump colluded with Russia.

Well, Dr. Hill isn’t just an expert on Russia. She also worked directly with Christopher Steele between ‘06 and ‘09. In this, she’s an actual, direct witness. As such, she testified that she never had any faith in the dossier.

According to her, Steele was desperate for clientele, and her estimation is that his desperation made him vulnerable. It would be very easy for Russian intelligence agents to feed him what he wanted — whether it could be substantiated or not.

This is a huge bombshell. To suggest that Steele lied for money is one thing. Suggesting that he was duped by Russia paints everything in a completely different light. Instead of colluding with President Trump, Russia actively conspired against him. That lends a lot of credit to the prevailing theory presented by both our intelligence agencies and Mueller himself.

They say that Russia did interfere in 2016, but the goal wasn’t to favor one candidate over the other. They paid for ads for Hillary and Trump. Russia’s goal was to sow discord and try to create distrust no matter who won.

Considering how the Steele Dossier was used, we can see that Russia completely succeeded. There was never any collusion between the Trump Campaign and Russia. Instead, Russia played the DNC and used them to attack the President of the United States. Everyone who pushed the Russia collusion story was a party to Russian interference, witting or not.

The Democrats have severely overplayed their hand this year. The theme of 2019 has been for the left to accuse President Trump of everything they’ve been doing. If we follow the logic, we shouldn’t be surprised to learn that the DNC was actively conspiring with Russia in 2019. They tried to play Russia and Ukraine, and they ended up getting burned in the process.
