House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is slipping. Cognitively, she seems to be in slightly better shape than the Democrats’ presidential nominee, Joe Biden. But in terms of her power and influence over her own party, she’s slipping rapidly. Pelosi must be worried after last week especially, when one of her oldest and strongest allies in Congress was badly beaten in a primary race. Her personal worries should pale in comparison to the country’s worries right now. That’s because we could wake up six months from now with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as the next Speaker of the House.
Our country has changed rapidly and dramatically. It seems like it happened overnight. You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to notice that the people throwing rocks and bottles of urine at your car are not really interested in antiquated ideas like “democracy” or “the Constitution.” You won’t be inviting these people over to your house for an intellectual discussion on the Federalist Papers.
We suddenly have an incredible amount of “woke” people in America. And even though they want to destroy the current system we’re living under, they are showing up in big numbers to vote in primary elections. May as well speed up the destruction with a few allies in Congress.
Congressman Eliot Engel (D-NY) probably thought the low-IQ “woke” morons wouldn’t turn out to vote against him last week. He figured they’d be too busy looting a CVS to remember to vote. And Engel was right to feel a bit arrogant about his 2020 reelection campaign.
After all, he’s held the same seat in New York for the past 31 years. He’s been in Congress for 16 terms now. Engel became the Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee in 2019, when Democrats retook control of the House. Engel has been friends with Nancy Pelosi throughout his years in Congress, so he has access to Pelosi’s vast Silicon Valley funding network.
If any Democrat’s seat was going to be safe in 2020, it was Eliot Engel’s.
Engel’s primary opponent is a guy named Jamaal Bowman, a black middle school teacher whose policies are so radical that the Congressional Black Caucus went out of its way to publicly endorse Engel. Bowman was able to mouth all of the usual policy talking points – the Green New Deal, defund the cops, abolish ICE, reparations for slavery. But Bowman really only has one policy when you boil it down: White people are gonna get it.
Bowman is an avowed racist. He’s a public-school teacher and yet he comes across as barely literate. He only seems to know one thing: White man bad.
When Eliot Engel suddenly found himself trailing in the polls several weeks ago – by a lot – we saw something happen that shows us how incredibly dangerous this “woke” movement is. Republican super-PACs from across the country started showing up at Eliot Engel’s campaign headquarters with wheelbarrows full of cash. Engel is Jewish and a strong supporter of Israel, so a lot of neocon and Republican organizations didn’t want to lose his reliable vote in Congress. It would be better for those Republicans to have an enemy they know, than an idiot who wants to burn everything down.
Hillary Clinton, Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi all endorsed and campaigned for Eliot Engel. And yet the candidate who supports allowing Palestinian terrorists to commit genocide against Israel defeated him by about 25 points, in a safe all-blue district. The “woke” showed up to vote and there were a lot more of them than anyone expected.
So, don’t dismiss the idea that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez could be the next Speaker of the House. There’s a lot happening in the country right now that many people don’t recognize or don’t understand. Remember back in 2016, when the entire establishment was telling America there was a “90% chance that Hillary Clinton will be the next president?” None of those experts have learned anything since then.
They didn’t recognize the revolt that was happening among the middle class which led to Donald Trump’s election. They don’t recognize the revolt that’s happening among the uneducated class today. And don’t think “This could never happen where I live! There are no ‘woke’ progressives around here!”
Really? Is there a public school in your area? Then there are uneducated, ‘woke’ progressives in your area. Which just goes to show that those of us on the right really need to show up and vote in November.
